  지적이고 독창적인 해석과 연주로 세계 주요 언론과 청중들로부터 찬사를 받고 있는 첼리스트 양성원은 국제적인 솔리스트로서 그리고 실내악 전문 연주자로서 뉴욕의 링컨 센터, 카네기 홀, 워싱턴DC의 테라스 극장, 파리의 살플레옐, 살 가보우, 일본의 오페라 시티홀 등 세계 굴지의 유명 연주장의 공연에서 호평을 받았다. 또한 프랑스, 영국, 스페인, 독일, 이탈리아, 오스트리아, 핀란드를 비롯한 유럽 각지, 미국, 캐나다를 비롯한 북미와 남미, 호주, 일본, 중국 등에 초청되어 연주하고 있다.

   

  EMI에서 발매된 그의 코다이 데뷔앨범은 영국 그라모폰지의 ‘에디터스 초이스(2002)’와 ‘크리틱스 초이스(2003)’로 선정되었으며 네덜란드의 ‘에디슨 어워드’에 노미네이트 되었다. 이어 피아니스트 문익주와 라흐마니노프와 쇼팽의 낭만적 작품집(2002), 바흐 무반주 첼로 모음곡전집(2005), 피아니스트 파스칼 드봐이용과 베토벤 첼로 소나타와 바리에이션 전곡집(2007)을 발표하였다. 이후 유니버설 뮤직 코리아의 아티스트로서 데카 레이블로 바이올리니스트 올리비에 샤를리에와 피아니스트 엠마누엘 슈트로세와 함께 슈베르트 작품집을 발표하였으며(2009), 체코 필하모닉 오케스트라와 드보르작 협주곡과 둠키 트리오를 녹음하여 2010년 가을 유니버설/데카에서 발매하였다. 2011년 여름, 프랑스의 클라리넷 앙상블 레봉벡과 새롭고 신선한 ‘Musical Getaway’라는 일곱 번째 음반을 선보였다. 2013년에는 트리오 오원(Pf. 엠마누엘 슈트로세, Vn. 올리비에 샤를리에 Vc. 양성원)을 결성하여 베토벤 피아노 트리오 음반을 발매하였다.

   

  양성원은 크리스토프 에센바흐, 정명훈, 유리 바슈메트, 노부코 이마이, 강동석, 파스칼 드봐이용을 비롯한 세계적인 아티스트와 함께 연주해왔다. 그가 협연한 생상스의 협주곡과 브람스 더블 콘체르토, 차이코프스키 로코코 변주곡은 프랑스 국영 TV를 통해 전 유럽에 방송되었으며, 이 밖에도 프랑스의 France Musique와 일본의 NHK, 한국의 KBS등을 통해 많은 공연이 실황 방송되었다.

   

  2011년 여름 프랑스 리모쥐를 필두로 ‘페스티벌 오원’( festival Owon)의 예술감독으로서 음악회와 미술가 배병우의 작품전시, 다도와 서예 및 한국음식을 아우르는 행사를 개최하였고, 2012년에는 이를 확대하여 프랑스 및 영국의 각 지역에서 페스티발 오원을 개최, 현지인들을 대상으로 한국 문화 알리기에 크게 이바지 하였다.

   

  2012년 한 해에만 파리 살 플레이옐에서 드보르작 협주곡 협연(Orchestre de Colonne), 트리오 오원의 런던 데뷰, 피터 위트보스의 첼로 협주곡 아시아 초연(서울시향), 영국, 이태리, 프랑스 여러 페스티발에 초청받아 연주와 강의를 하였고, 중국과 일본에서 순회 독주회를 가졌다.

  2013에는 트리오 오원이 베토벤 유령, 대공 트리오를 데카 레이블로 녹음하며, 무반주 바흐 모음곡 전곡을 프랑스, 일본 및 한국의 9개 도시에서 연주하였다. 트리오 오원은 베토벤 트리오 전곡을 프랑스, 중국 북경, 한국에서 공연했다. 2014년의 행보 또한 기대되는데 고양아람누리에서 격월로 마티네 콘서트의 진행자와 연주자로 청중과 만나고 이태리 최고 피아니스트 엔리코 파체와 브람스 소나타 녹음과 연주를 두고있다.

   

  또한 후학양성에도 열정을 쏟고 있는 그는 캐나다 밴프 국제 실내악 콩쿠르, 앙드레 나바라 국제 콩쿠르, 카사도 국제 콩쿠르의 심사위원으로 위촉되었으며 영국의 로얄 아카데미 오브 뮤직, 미국의 이스트만, 예일, 독일의 마인츠, 캐나다의 에드몬튼 대학 등에서 연주와 마스터클래스를 가졌다.

   

  2006년 올해의 예술상, 2009년 제4회 대원음악연주상, 제1회 객석예술인상을 수상한 양성원은 서울 태생으로 파리 음악원과 인디애나 대학에서 수학하여 최고연주자 과정을 취득했으며, 명 첼리스트 야노스 슈타커의 애제자로 그의 조수를 역임하였다. 현재 연세대 음대 교수이자 영국 런던의 로얄 아카데미 오브 뮤직의 초빙교수로 재직 중인 그는 끊임없는 도전 의식과 왕성한 연주 활동으로 세계를 향하여 지평을 넓혀가고 있다.

   

  An exclusive Universal Music Korea Artist, Sung-Won Yang has appeared all over the world as a soloist and as a chamber musician. He has given highly acclaimed solo recitals and performances in prestigious concert halls such as the Alice Tully Hall at New York’s Lincoln Center, the Salle Pleyel in Paris, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Terrace Theater at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C, the Opera City Hall in Tokyo, the Symphony Hall in Osaka, and the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing. His performances have also taken him to other major cities such as London, Rome, Frankfurt, Madrid, Prague, Helsinki, Boston, Seattle, Tel Aviv, Shanghai, Sydney, and many others.

   

  As a former exclusive artist for EMI Korea, his all-Kodaly debut album was chosen as Editor’s Choice of the month by Gramophone Magazine (Feb. 2003), Critic’s Choice of the year for also by Gramophone Magazine in the UK (Deb. 2003), as well as being nominated as best solo debut album at the Edison Awards in Holland (2003). His other recordings for EMI feature works by Rachmaninoff and Chopin with pianist Ick-Choo Moon (2002), recording of complete Bach Solo Suites (2005), and the complete Sonatas and Variations for Piano and Cello by Beethoven with Pianist Pascal Devoyon (2007), which were all released to immense positive responses and have met a huge success among music lovers and critics alike. In addition to his Schubert Album with violinist Olivier and pianist Emmanuel Strosser released by Decca Label (2009) his recent recording of Dvorak’s Cello Concerto with Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and Dumky Trio was released in the fall of 2010 through Universal Music/Decca as well.

   

  Sung-Won Yang has collaborated with musicians such as Christoph Eschenbach, MyungWhun Chung, Yuri Bashmet, DongSuk Kang, Nobuko Imai, and Pascal Devoyon, among many others. His performances of the Saint-Saens Cello Concerto, Brahms Double Concerto, and Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme with the Orchestre Symphonique Francais were broadcasted on French National TV and all over Europe through Eurovision, and they are available on DVDs by Goldline Classics. Furthermore, he has given numerous live broadcasts on France Musique, NHK of Japan, and KBS of Korea. As a frequent performer of contemporary music, he regularly commissions new works such as a trio for Violin, Cello, and DaeGum (Korean traditional Wooden flute) by Korean-American composer JeeYoung Kim (2006) and a trio for Piano, Violin, and Cello by French composer Pierre Charvet (2006), which was premiered in Saint-Nazaire and Paris. Some of the highlights for 2012-2013 season is his Asian premiere of the Concerto Grosso by Peter Eotvos and Seoul Philharmonic, and Dvorak Concerto in Paris' Salle Pleyel with Orchestre Colonne, complete Bach Cello solo suites in France, Japan and Korean, Complete Beethoven trios cycle with Trio Owon, among many other venues in Italy, England, France and Japan, and recording of the Beethoven trios 'Ghost' , 'Archduke' and the Schubert Cello Quintet, for Universal/Decca.

   

  A native of Seoul, Korea, Sung-Won Yang graduated from the Paris Conservatory and Indiana University, where he was an assistant to Professor Janos Straker. He has served as a juror to the Banff International Chamber Music Competition in Canada, Andre Navarra International Cello Competition in France, Cassado International Cello Competition in Japan. As a recipient of numerous awards, he is currently Professor of Cello at Yonsei University School of Music in Seoul, Visiting Professor at Royal Academy of Music in London.

   

   

  피아니스트 엔리코 파체 (Enrico Pace)

  엔리코 파체는 이탈리아의 리미니에서 태어났다. 그는 로시니 콘서바토리에서 플랑코 스칼라와 피아노를 공부하였고 지휘와 작곡도 수학하였다. 1989년 프란츠 리스트 피아노 콩쿨에서 수상하며 국제적 명성을 쌓기 시작했다. 그 후 엔리코 파체는 암스텔담, 밀라노, 로마, 베를린, 런던, 뮌헨, 더블린 등 유럽 각지와 남미에서 활발한 연주회를 가져왔으며, 루체른, 베르비에, 라인가우 등 다양한 페스티발에 참가해오고 있다.

   

  세계적인 지휘자인 로베르토 벤지, 데이빗 로버슨, 안드레이 보리코, 마크 엘더등 수많은 지휘자들과 함께 연주했고 솔리스트로서 로열 콘체르토바우, 뮌헨 필하모닉, BBC 필하모닉, 로테르담 필하모닉, 도이치 라디오 필하모닉, 시드니와 멜버른 심포니 등과 협연무대를 선보였다.

   

  실내악연주자로서 켈러 콰르텟, RTE 벤부르 콰르텟과 함께 연주했으며 첼리스트 다니엘 뮐러 스코, 클라리넷연주자 샤론 캄과도 활동하고있다. 이와 함께 유럽 곳곳의 쳄버뮤직 페스티발도 고정적으로 출연하고 있다.

   

  주목할 만한 그 동안의 연주와 계획들로는 네덜란드 필하모닉 오케스트라, 헝가리 내셔날 필하모닉, 런던 심포니 오케스트라와 연주들이 있으며 피터 짐머만과 바하소나타 투어로 뉴욕, 암스텔람, 쥐리히, 프랑크프루트, 벰베르그, 일본에서 리사이틀등 활발한 무대를 선사했다.

   

  엔리코 파체는 바이올리니스트 레오니다스 카바코스, 프랑크 피터 짐머만, 리자 퍼수트맨과 지소적인 파트너쉽을 발휘하고 있으며 첼리스트 페트릭 드멘가과 음반작업도 함께 해오고 있다.

   

  2011년 피아노 클래식 음반을 통해 리스트의 “순례의 해”중 스위스와 이태리를 발매하여 최고의 찬사를 받았다.

   

  Enrico Pace was born in Rimini, Italy. He studied piano with Franco Scala both at the Rossini Conservatory, Pesaro, where he graduated in Conducting and Composition, and later at the Accademia Pianistica Incontri col Maestro, Imola. Jacques De Tiège was a valued mentor. Winning the Utrecht International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in 1989 marked the beginning of his international career.

  Since then Enrico Pace has toured extensively, performing in cities such as Amsterdam (Concertgebouw), Milan (Sala Verdi and Teatro alla Scala), Rome, Berlin, London (Wigmore Hall), Dublin, Munich, Salzburg, Prague and various cities in South America. He has performed at numerous festivals including La Roque-d’Anthéron, Verbier, Lucerne, Rheingau, Schleswig-Holstein and Husum.

  He has worked with among others the following conductors: Roberto Benzi, David Robertson, Andrey Boreyko, Mark Elder, Janos Fürst, Eliahu Inbal, Lawrence Foster, Kazimierz Kord, Jiří Kout, Gianandrea Noseda, Walter Weller, Carlo Rizzi, Jan Latham-Koenig, Vassily Sinaisky, Stanislav Skrowaczewski, Bruno Weil and Antoni Wit.

  A very popular soloist, he has performed with many major orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Munich Philharmonic, the Bamberger Symphoniker, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of Santa Cecilia Rome, the Rotterdam Philharmonic, the Dutch Radio Philharmonic, the Netherlands Philharmonic, the Sydney and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the MDR-Sinfonieorchester Leipzig, the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, the RTE National Symphony Orchestra, the G. Verdi Orchestra Milan and the Filarmonica Toscanini Parma.

  Enrico Pace greatly enjoys chamber music and has played with the Keller Quartet, the RTE Vanbrugh Quartet, the Quartetto Prometeo and with cellist Daniel Müller-Schott, clarinetist Sharon Kam and horn player Marie Luise Neunecker. He participates regularly in chamber music festivals and has visited Delft, Moritzburg, Risør, Kuhmo, Montreux, Stresa and West Cork.

  Highlights during the past and coming seasons include(d) engagements with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the Residentie Orchestra, the Hungarian National Philharmonic, the Göteborg and London Symphony Orchestras and the Rheinische Philharmonie; the Beethoven Sonata cycle with Leonidas Kavakos in among others New York (Carnegie Hall), Athens, Florence, Milan, Amsterdam, Moscow and Tokyo and at the Salzburg Festival, as well as further duo recitals in the USA, Germany and China; Bach Sonatas with Frank Peter Zimmermann in among others New York, Amsterdam, Zürich, Frankfurt, Bamberg and Japan; recitals with viola player Antoine Tamestit in Zürich, Frankfurt and Cologne; and solo recitals in among others the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and the Herkulessaal in Munich.

  Enrico Pace enjoys on-going partnerships with violinists Leonidas Kavakos, Frank Peter Zimmermann and Liza Ferschtman. With Mr. Kavakos and cellist Patrick Demenga he recorded the piano trios by Mendelssohn (Sony Classical). And his recording of the complete Beethoven Sonatas for piano and violin with Mr. Kavakos was released by Decca Classics in January 2013. With Mr. Zimmermann he recorded the Busoni violin sonata no. 2 and the six Sonatas for violin and piano BWV 1014-1019 by J.S. Bach for Sony Classical.

  In 2011 the label Piano Classics released his highly praised solo recording of the Années de pèlerinage “Suisse” and “Italie” of Franz Liszt.
