  빈스의 마을은 ‘오카 위기’라고 알려지게 된 전쟁에 순식간에 말려들게 된다. 그리고 하룻밤 사이에 빈스의 마을은 바깥 세계와 단절돼 버린다. 빈스는 용감한 모호크족으로 변신하기 위해 자신이 알고 있는 가장 터프한 소녀 에이프릴을 찾아간다. 그곳에서 빈스는 다행스럽게도 아이들 패거리 사이에 끼게 되지만, ‘오카’ 위기를 둘러싼 갈등이 점점 고조되며 생각지도 못한 인종차별과 폭력까지 맞닥뜨리게 된다. 이런 상황을 납득할 수 없는 빈스는 부정적인 분노로 가득 차 점점 복수에만 몰두한다.

   

  Beans’ community quickly joins the battle in what becomes known as the Oka Crisis. Overnight, her community is cut off from the outside world. Beans seeks out the toughest girl she knows, April, to transform into the brave Mohawk warrior that she needs to be to survive. She gains acceptance with the cool clique, but that doesn’t prepare her for the racism and violence she confronts as the conflict escalates. Unable to cope, she descends into a dark, rage-filled existence focused on revenge.
