  잭에겐 다운증후군이 있는 동생 지오가 있다. 잭은 어렸을 때 부모님이 들려줬던 착한 거짓말, 지오는 만화책에나 나올법한 특별한 수퍼파워를 지닌 특별한 아이라는 이야기를 믿었다. 그러나 고등학교에 갈 나이가 된 잭은 더 이상 그 이야기를 믿지 않는다. 오히려 자신의 첫사랑, 아리아나를 만나고 난 뒤 동생을 창피하게까지 여긴다. 하지만 잭은 타인의 결점까지 사랑하지 못한다면 자신 역시 있는 그대로 사랑받지 못한다는 인생의 교훈을 배워야 한다. 잭은 동생 지오를 바로 곁에서 지켜보며 이 교훈을 배우게 될 것이다. 지오만의 독특하면서도 단순하고, 놀라울 정도로 현명한 말들을 통해서 말이다.

   

  Jack has a brother, Gio, who has Down syndrome. As a child, Jack believed the tender lie his parents told him, that Gio was a special being with superpowers, as in a comic book. Now that he is about to go to high school, however, Jack no longer believes that his brother is a superhero, in fact, he is almost ashamed of him, especially since he met Arianna, the first love of his life. But you cannot be loved by someone as you are, if you cannot love someone despite his faults and this is a life-lesson that Jack will have to learn: it will be his brother Gio to teach him that, with his straight ways, his unique point of view and his simple but surprisingly wise words.
