[시놉시스]

1973년, 다섯 명의 남자와 여섯 명의 여자가 ‘아칼리’라는 소형보트를 타고 대서양을 횡단하는 해양과학 모험을 떠난다. 멕시코 인류학자 산티아고 헤베네스가 처음 실시한 이 실험은 폭력의 기원과 성적 매력의 역학을 탐구하기 위한 것이다. ‘표류자들’은 아칼리 실험의 기록물과 생존자들의 재회를 바탕으로 한 다큐멘터리이다. 실험에 참가했던 이들이 당시 보트의 실물 크기로 재현해낸 보트에 올라 40여 년전 아칼리에서 있었던 일들을 회상한다.

In 1973, five men and six women were handpicked to cross the Atlantic on a raft named Acali. It was an experiment initiated by Mexican anthropologist Santiago Genoves, who wanted to explore the origins of violence and the dynamics of sexual attraction. The Raft is a documentary based on archive material and a reunion of the surviving members of the 'Acali Expedition'. On a life-size replica of the original raft, the crew members revisit what happened board more than 40 years ago.
