  중국 산골 마을에 조부모와 살고 있는 14살 소년 마시앙의 어깨는 무겁다. 2년 전 가정 폭력으로 엄마는 집을 나가 소식이 없고, 아빠는 감옥에 가 있다. 마시앙은 아직 엄마의 품이 그리운 아이일 뿐이지만 언제 돌아올지 알 수 없는 아버지를 대신해서 한 가정을 책임지는 가장의 역할을 자임한다. 가장으로서 그의 첫 번째 결심은 고향에서 1,500킬로 떨어진 도시로 가서 국숫집 수련생이 되는 것이다.

  
  

   

  
  

  Ma Xiang is a troubled 14-year-old boy who lives with his grandparents in a mountain village in China. Two years ago, his mother left home after a domestic violence incident, and his father is in jail. Ma Xiang is just a boy missing his mother, but he is also the breadwinner of the family since he doesn’t know when his father will be released.
