• 11살 소녀 파르바나는 전쟁으로 폐허가 된 아프가니스탄 카불의 한 작은 아파트에서 가족과 함께 살고 있다. 탈레반 치하에서 아버지가 들려주는 이야기를 듣고 자란 파르바나는 시장에서 사람들의 편지를 대신 읽고 써주며 생계를 유지하는 아버지를 돕는다. 어느 날, 그의 아버지가 체포되고 파르바나의 삶은 영원히 변해버린다.

   

  Eleven-year-old Parvana lives with her family in one room of a tiny apartment building in war-torn Kabul, Afghanistan. Living under Taliban rule, Parvana grows up listening to stories told by her father while helping him in the marketplace where he reads and writes letters for people to earn a living. One day, her father is arrested, and Parvana’s life is changed forever.

  노라 투메이 Nora TWOMEY

  '카툰 살롱‘의 공동 창립자이자 크리에이티브 디렉터인 노라 투메이 감독은 크리스 오도드가 나레이션을 맡고, 넷플릭스가 소유한 유아용 시리즈 <퍼프 앤 락>과 같은 작품들의 제작을 총괄하고 있다. 또한 그녀는 <어둠에서부터>와 <백워드 보이> 등과 같은 단편작품들을 연출해 다양한 영화제에서 수상을 했으며,’카툰 살롱‘ 아카데미에서 제작하여 아카데미상 장편애니메이션상에 노미네이트 된 <캘즈의 비밀>을 공동 연출하기도 했다.

   

  As a co-founder and Creative Director at Cartoon Saloon, Nora Twomey oversees the development of the company’s slate of productions, such as Puf n Rock, the preschool series narrated by Chris O’Dowd and acquired by Netflix. Nora directed the multiple-award-winning short films From Darkness- and Cúilín Dualach (Back- wards Boy), and was co-director of Cartoon Saloon’s Academy Award®-nominated animated feature The Secret of Kells.
