• 등대 앞 바다에서 살고 있는 소년 벤에게 아름다운 자장가를 불러주던 엄마가 여동생 시얼샤를 낳은 후 갑자기 사라진다. 몇 년이 지나도 말을 하지 못하는 시얼샤는 엄마가 남긴 나팔고둥을 우연히 불게 되고, 무언가에 홀린 듯 바다 속으로 들어가 바다표범과 신비로운 모험을 하게 된다. 딸까지 잃고 싶지 않은 아빠는 남매를 도시의 할머니에게 보내지만, 벤과 시얼샤는 다시 고향 집으로 가기 위해 길을 나선다. 그러던 중 벤과 시얼샤, 강아지 쿠는 부엉이 마녀 마카의 함정에 빠지게 되고 위험에 처하는데..과연 벤은 마법에 걸린 동생을 구하고 아빠 품으로 돌아갈 수 있을까?

  - Nearby a lighthouse on the coast of Ireland lives a young boy, Ben. His mother suddenly disappears after giving birth to his sister Saoirse. Few years passed but Saoirse has not yet spoken a single word. One day, Saoirse plays a seashell horn and is coaxed to the ocean by a group of seals. Ben and Saoirse‘s father sends the children to the Granny who lives in the city for their safety, but the children insists upon going back home, and so the fantastic journey begins. But Ben, Saoirse and their sheepdog Cu fall into the trap of the owl witch Macha. Will Ben and Saoirse safely arrive at home?

  - 톰 무어 감독은 북아일랜드 출신으로 더블린의 발리 퍼몬트 칼리지에서 고전 애니메이션을 공부했다. 이후 애니메이션 스튜디오인 ‘카툰 살롱’을 공동 설립하여 단편 애니메이션의 각본, 제작, 연출까지 맡았다. 두 번째 장편 애니메이션인 <바다의 노래 : 벤과 셀키요정의 비밀>로 아카데미 시상식에 노미네이트되는 쾌거를 이뤘다. - Tomm Moore was born in Northern Ireland, and studied classical animation at Ballyfermot College of Further Education in Dublin. As the co-founder of the Cartoon Saloon animation studio, Moore has been writing, producing and directing a number of animated short films. His second feature film Song of the Sea was nominated for the Academy Award winning critical acclaim.
