• - 싱가포르 인구가 690만에 이를 거라고 모두가 입 모아 이야기 한다. 특히 그 중 45퍼센트는 외국인일 것이다. 이런 불확실한 환경 속에서 아홉 살 난 인도 소년 라자가 싱가포르에 도착한다. 전학 첫 날 라자는 ‘외국인’이라는 꼬리표가 붙어 친구들과 싸움을 하게 되고, 벌로 학교의 중국인 오페라 극단에 가입을 하게 된다. 학교 위원회의 높은 자리를 차지한 학부모들이 관여하게 되고 이 학부모들은 자신의 아이가 팀을 이끌기를 원한다. 학부모들은 조롱하거나, 사기를 치거나 상대 아이를 몰아내려 혈안이다. 서로 물고 뜯는 싸움 끝에, 모두가 인종, 언어, 종교에 상관없이 공동체로 살아가는 의미를 새삼 깨닫는다.

   - Everyone is talking about it – Singapore is going to be home to 6.9 million people. Especially when 45% of the population will be foreigners. In the midst of these uncertainties, Raja, a 9-year-old Indian boy arrives in Singapore. On his first day of school, Raja branded a ʻforeign talentʼ and gets into a fight. As punishment, heʼs forced to join the schoolʼs Chinese Opera Troupe. Meanwhile, the students’ high- strung parents are drawn into the mix. All of them want their own kid to play the lead! They bicker, scheme and do everything short of biting each otherʼs heads off. Through the mayhem of it all, everyone learns anew the meaning of living together as one united people, regardless of race, language or religion.
