  늘 영화에 대한 열정이 넘치는 마하는 상상 속의 세계를 현실로 만드는 전문 세트 디자이너다. 일에 대한 엄청난 중압감에 시달리던 마하는 어느 날 다른 삶을 마주하며 현실과 상상을 넘나들게 된다. 자신이 디자인 한 세트를 꼭닮은 삶과 현실에서의 삶이 점점 더 얽히고 설키며, 현실과 상상의 경계는 갈수록 더 흐려진다. 마하는 평행적인 두 세계에서 아슬아슬한 줄타기를 하며 처음으로 자신이 진정으로 원하는 것이 무엇인지 결정해야 한다. 아랍영화의 산실인 이집트의 멜로드라마 장면이 영화의 숨은 재미인 <두 사람을 살다>는 아흐마드 압둘라의 5번째 장편영화로 여성의 삶과 심리세계를 세련된 기법으로 표현한 수작이다.
  Maha has always been passionate about film, and as a set designer she’s become an expert at creating imaginary worlds. Under immense pressure at work, she sights another life on the horizon and begins slipping between realities – one resembling the film set she’s designed and the other her supposed real life. As she grows ever more entangled in each, the border between the real and imagined becomes blurred. Maha walks a fine line between her parallel lives, and must decide for the first time what she truly desires.

  아흐마드 압달라(Ahmad Abdalla)
  아흐마드 압둘라는 2003년 장편 화 편집을 시작으로 영화계에 입문했다. 2009년 첫 장편영화인 <헬리오폴리스>의 시나리오 작가 겸 감독으로 데뷔하였고, 이후 이집트 알렉산드리아의 인디 음악 및 미술을 조명한 <마이크로폰>(2010)을 연출하였다. <너덜거리는 혁명>(2013)을 통해서는 2011년에 카이로에서 일어난 혁명 이후 주민들의 이야기를 시적으로 그려내 주목을 받았다. 아흐마드 압둘라는 저예산으로 독창적이고 개성있는 영화를 만들어 내는 감독으로 잘 알려져 있다.</br> Abdalla began his film career in the editing room, taking on the role of editor for feature films starting in 2003. In 2009, he directed his first feature film Heliopolis. He directed Microphone (2010), which follows the independent music and underground art scene in the city of Alexandria, Egypt. His next auteur work was Rags and Tatters (2013), a poetic portrait of the disconnection and marginalization that Cairo’s residents suffered from the outbreak of the 2011 revolution. He is well known for his independent approach to filmmaking, relying on low-budget production and intent on producing fresh, unique works.
