  여든 살의 유수프는 그의 부인 암나와 함께 하이파의 자연 계곡 로쉬미아에 살고 있다. 1948년 이스라엘 건국과 함께 시작된 나크바 당시 점령당한 하이파는 이들 부부가 살고 있는 판잣집도, 이들 부부도 그들의 관할로 인정하지 않는다. 80년대 초까지 많은 사람들이 거주했던 로쉬미아 계곡에 마지막까지 남은 부부는 물도, 전화도, 전기도 없이 생활한다. 그러던 중 하이파 시당국이 지중해와 카르멜 산을 잇는 도로 건설 계획을 세우면서 부부의 조용하고 평화로운 삶은 사라진다. 정부는 노부부의 판잣집이 세워진 땅을 몰수하고 집을 철거하려 하고 이로 인해 노부부는 새 집을 찾아 나서야 한다. 중재자 역할을 자처하는 아우니는 정부의 보상을 받아내기 위해 돕지만, 오히려 이런 협상은 세 인물들의 사이에 갈등을 고조시킨다. 부부는 그저 자신들이 이 곳에서 평화롭고 소박하게 살 수 있기만을 바랄 뿐이다.
  Yousef (an 80-year-old refugee from Wadi Salib) has lived in a shack in the last natural valley ‘Roshmia’ with his wife Amna in the city of Haifa, occupied in the Nakba of 1948. The city’s municipality does not acknowledge the shack or its inhabitants; no water, Electricity or phone line are extended to last residents of the valley that was inhabited by many until early 80s. Life remains quiet in Roshmia valley until the Musinipality of Haifa plans to build a road across the valley to connect the Mediterranean Sea to Mount Karmel, which will result in confiscation and demolition of the old couple’s shack, forcing them to find another home. Aouni, the man who looks after the couple, acts as a middlemen between them and the municipality and attempts to secure compensation, however the negotiations lead to tension among the three characters.

  살림 아부 자발(Salim Abu JABAL)
  살림 아부 자발은 하이파대학교에서 아랍문학과 연극을 전공하고, 여러 아랍신문에서 영화 비평가로 활동했다. 그는 몇 편의 영화와 시리즈물 등 방송프로그램을 제작했으며 다수의 팔레스타인 영화의 제작자와 캐스팅 디렉터로 이름이 알려졌다. 2005년에는 팔레스타인 곳곳을 돌아다니는 이동영화제를 개최 했다. 그는 <랭귀지 오브 아몬즈>(2011), <분리일기>(2012) 등의 단편 영화를 연출하였으며, 첫 장편 다큐멘터리인 <로쉬미아>(2014)는 두바이국제영화제에서 심사위원상을 받았다.</br> Salim Abu JABAL began his career as a Film Critic in various Arab newspapers after having studied Arabic Literature and Theatre at University of Haifa. He pursued a career in TV and Cinema where he produced and directed several films, series and programs and was best known for his roles as casting ddirector and producer of renowned Palestinian and International award-winning films. In 2005, he founded and produced the traveling alternative film festival of Palestine ‘Films From Behind The Wall.’ He wrote, produced and directed a couple of shorts; The Language of Almonds (2011) and Separation Diary (2012) and his first feature documentary Roshmia (2014) as awarded the Jury Prize at Dubai International Film Festival.
