  시놉시스
  여자아이가 비가 오는 것을 보고 부침개를 생각한다. 그리고 비오는 날에는 왜 부침개를 먹는 걸까 라는 생각도 하게 된다. 그러다가 감자전을 해먹기로 결심하지만 감자전을 어떻게 만드는 건지 모른다는 것을 깨닫게 된다. 그래서 가장 간단한 김치전을 해먹기로 한다. 김치전을 다 만든 후, 비오는 것을 바라보며 깊은 만족감에 젖는다.

  Synopsis
  To a girl, the idea of having a buchimgae(Korean-style pancake) comes up. She wonders why people have buchimgaes in a rainy day. Then, she decides to have a potato buchimgae but dosen't know how. So she changed her mind into a kimchi buchimgae. After cooking, she finds herself satisfactory watching the rain.

  
  작품소개
  제목 그대로 비 오는 날에 부침개를 만든 이야기다. 짧은 순간의 러닝타임이 유머로 가득한귀여운 영화다. 보이스 오버로 나오는 부산 사투리가 정겨움을 더한다.
  관객은 주인공의 목소리를 들으며 부침개가 만들어지는 과정을 보다 보면 어느새 즐거움에 흠뻑 빠지게 될 것이다. 사람은 이렇게 비가 오면 좋아하는 음악을 들으며 부침개를 만들며 살아가는 것처럼 일상의 소소함이 인생이라고 말한다.

  About Film
  As its title says, it's a story about making a pancake on a rainy day. It is a cute movie full of humor in the short running time. In a voice-over, the Busan dialect sounds friendly. To hear the voice of the main character and see making a pancake, you will find yourself in great joy. This film shows this kind of seemingly trivial things make up a life.

  시놉시스
  이 이야기는 실화에 기초해 있다. 사랑했던 두 남자. 그 중 한 명이 집안의 압력에 의해 결혼해야 했다. 그를 떠나보낼 수 없었던 연인은 고민과 싸움을 거듭하다가 결국 자신의 친누나를 소개시켜주게 된다. 이렇게 맺어진 악연. 결국 누나는 자기 남편과 자기 동생의 관계를 알게 된다. 하지만 누나는 자신이 갓 임신한 아기, 어쩌면 가족의 상징일 수도 있는 아기를 선택하게 되고 동생을 떠나보내게 한다. 시간이 흘러 그들은 어떻게 되었을까?

  Synopsis
  This film is based on a true story. There are two men loving each other. One of them has to marry under the family pressure. In a desperate attempt not to lose his lover, one man introduces the other to his own sister. What an undesirable relationship! Eventually, she finds out the truth. Upon learning her pregnancy, however, she decides to save her baby, the symbol of their family. How will their lives unfold?

   

  작품소개
  이 영화는 ‘삼각관계’를 다룬 영화지만 결코 평범하지 않다. 왜나면 세 사람 중 실제로 사랑을 하는 사람들과 사회나 타인의 기준을 맞추기 위한 사람들이 따로 또 같기 때문이다.
  사랑하는 사람을 곁에 두려고 자신의 누나를 소개시켜준 젊은 남자, 사랑하는 연인을 위해 그 남자의 누나와 결혼한 남자 그리고 자신의 남동생과 사랑하면서도 자신을 속이고 결혼했고 임신까지 시킨 남자를 기다리는 여자까지 본성을 억누르고 사회의 기준에 맞추다가 끝내 상처를 입고 마는 세 사람 모두 피해자다. 과연 용납이 되지 않는 사랑도 있냐고 인간의 본성도 감추어질 수 있을까라는 고민을 던져주는 영화다.

  About Film
  This film deals with 'love triangle' but it's not common. It's about two gay men in love with each other. In an attempt not to lose their love, one gets married with the other's older sister. She eventually finds out the true nature of the relationship between her husband and her brother. Even after knowing her pregnancy, three of them try to meet the social standard and become victim themselves. This film asks us two questions if there is a love which cannot be tolerated and if it is possible to hide one's nature.

  <언제나 일요일같이>(1998)로 첫 단편 연출. 2000년 <슈가 힐>로 제20회 밴쿠버 국제영화제 용호부문, 제13회 클레르몽페랑 국제단편영화제 한국파노라마 부문에 진출.

  (1998)is his directing debut film. was a Official Selection at Vancouver International Film Festival, 'Dragons & Tigers Award for Young Cinema' section and the 13th 'Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, Korean Panorama' section.

  법사 스님을 모시고 사는 두 명의 행자, 그들의 삶은 딱딱한 규율에 갇힌 답답한 종교생활이 아니라 담담하고 자연스럽게 불도를 닦는 삶이다. 속인들과 별로 다를 것 없는 그들 삶에 대한 묘사는 입가에 미소를 짓게 함은 물론 따뜻한 마음을 갖게 한다. (KBS 소개글) 2001년 제27회 한국독립단편영화제 중편 초청, 2001 부산아시아단편영화제 한국필름 경쟁부문. 속세에서 그리 멀지 않은 절에 법사스님과 행자 둘, 그리고 강아지 한 마리가 살고 있다. 이 스님들은 반찬으로 갈치를 먹기도 하고, 고아원에 위문을 가기도 하는 등, 무욕(無慾)과 물욕(物慾)이라는 기존의 이분법적인 관습을 거부하며 구도를 행하고 있다. 그러던 눈이 오는 추운 겨울날, 절에서 기르던 강아지 '선재'가 사라지고, 이 세 스님은 '선재'를 찾아 먼 길을 떠나게 되는데.
  Synopsis
  Two student priests serve a Buddhist priest. Their lives are not trapped in the rigid discipline of the religious life but naturally practice the teaching of Buddha. The portrayal of their lives are not much different from ordinary people, making the beholder smile and have a warm heart.(excerpt from KBS) This film was invited to the 27th Korean Independent Film Festival 2001, medium-length section and was a Final Competition for Korean Film, at Busan Asian Short Film Festival 2001. These monks live in a temple which is not far from the secular world with a dog. They eat fish and call on an orphanage to take care of children. They refuse the existing dichotomous convention of selflessness(無慾) and worldly desires(物慾) and seek the truth. Then one snowy winter night, the dog 'Seon-jae' disappears and those three monks go a long way to find it.

  눈 내리는 겨울 한 산사에서 일어나는 하루 동안의 이야기로 한 승려가 새벽에 종을 치며 시작되고 또 다른 승려가 저녁에 종을 치며 끝이 난다. 먹는 것 때문에 고민하고 담배를 피우고 점잖지 않게 말하는 등 우리가 알고 있는 승려의 모습과는 닮지 않은 모습으로 우리를 어리둥절하게 만들고 그들에 대한 편견을 심어주지만 이야기가 진행되면서 우리는 그들이 마음이 착하고 도를 찾는데 열심인 구도자들이라는 것을 알게 된다. 외면적으로 마땅히 그러해야 하는 것과 내면적으로 실제로 그러한 것의 관계에 대한 질문을 재미있는 방식으로 푼다.

  About Film
  This is a story in a snowy winter temple. This one-day story starts with temple bell-ringing ceremony by one monk and ends with by the other monk. These two are quite different from what you think of a buddhist monk. Their lives worrying about what to eat, smoking, and speaking in an indecent way make you embarrassed and instill prejudice against them. But as the story progresses, you realize they are kind and serious truth-seekers. This film asks you the relationship between what they should look like and what they really practice inside in a very interesting way.

  박정범 감독은 1976년생으로 연세대학교 체육교육과를 졸업하고 현재 동국대 영상대학원 재학 중. 2000년 단편 〈사경〉으로 연세영화제 대상을 수상한 뒤, 2001년 16mm 단편영화 〈사경을 헤매다〉를 완성했다.

  초등학생인 인경, 겁보, 뚱보는 학교를 마치고 자전거를 타고 집으로 가던 중 고등학생 무리에게 쫓기는 신세가 된다. 도망을 가다가 한 허름한 폐건물에 숨어 든 그들은 고등학생을 피해서 점점 건물 속 깊이 들어간다. 건물 속에서 그들을 지켜보는 누군가가 느껴지고, 곧 그 누군가가 모습을 드러내는데...

  Synopsis
  Elementary students, In-kyung, Geop-bo, and Ttung-bo, are riding bikes on their way to home after school, when a bunch of high schoolers starts to chase them. Running away from chasers, they hide into an abandoned building and go deeper and deeper into it. They feel someone are watching them inside, and soon something turns up.

  상상력이 풍부한 어린이의 꿈을 영화화 한다면 이런 영화가 될 수도 있을 것 같은 엉뚱하고 발랄한 코미디 영화다. 흑백화면, 화면 속도의 다양함, 정서를 환기하는 음악 그리고 대사를 자막으로 처리하기 등은 영화가 확실히 20세기 초 무성영화 방식으로 영화를 찍고자 하는 것을 보여준다. 더욱이 극영화의 아버지인 프랑스 감독 조르주 멜리에스의 영화 ‘달세계 여행’에서 가장 유명한 장면인 눈에 로켓을 박은 달의 모습은 감독이 누구에게 이 영화를 헌사를 바치는지를 알게 한다.

  About Film
  If you made a film from children's imaginative dream, this kind of whimsical, vivacious comedy film would be made. Those features that black-and-white screen, varying the speed of the screen, emotionally evocative music, and using subtitles for dialogues show the director's intention to use silent film making method of the beginning of the 20th century. The most famous scene in 'A Trip to the Moon' by French director Georges Méliès, the father of a film drama is the moon with a rocket in its eye. This appears in this film letting us know for whom this film made.

  민동현 MIN Dong-hyun

  서울예대 영화과를 졸업한 후 한국영화아카데미에서 애니메이션을 전공했다. 단편영화 <지우개 따먹기>(1999)가 국내외 여러 영화제에서 상영되면서 주목 받기 시작했다.
  실사와 애니메이션을 넘나들며 활동하고 있다.
