  시놉시스
  오늘날 중국 상류사회의 전형이라고 할 수 있는 네 명의 성숙하고 성공한 여성들이 패션 잡지 편집장인 니우니우의 화려한 맨션에서 춘절 이브에 모인다. 파티가 끝날 즈음 네 명의 친구들은 서로의 마음을 터놓고 파란만장했던 과거로부터의 트라우마를 이야기하는 시간을 가진다. 정치적 사건, 가족의 비극, 감정적인 사건들은 이 성공한 여성들의 세련된 겉모습 이면에 깊게 상처로 남아있는 것 같다. 여성의 성을 다루고 옛 혁명의 과거세대에게 질문을 던지는 영화, 여기에 닝 잉감독 자신만의 독특한 스타일인 블랙유머가 가미된 영화이다. 

  Synopsis
  Four mature and successful women, epitomizing today's Chinese high society, meet on the Spring Festival's eve in the opulent mansion of Niuniu, an established editor of fashion magazines. While the party enfolds, the four friends have the chance to open up their hearts, for the first time in their life, and to reveal the traumas deriving from a dramatic past. Political events, family tragedies, sentimental affairs, which seemed deeply buried beneath the modern facade of these successful women, mark in reality all of their lives. A film dealing with women sexuality and questioning the past generation of old revolutionaries, with a touch of black-humor which is the signature style of director NING Ying

   

  연출 의도
  나의 이전 작품 “북경 삼부작”을 통해 내가 살고 있는 도시의 붕괴와 사회적 변화를 이야기하려했다. 이제 캐릭터 속으로 좀 더 깊이 들어가서 우리 시대의 성공 뒤에 있는 숨어있는 모티브를 발견해보려 한다.

  Director’s Statement
  With my previous "Beijing Trilogy" I tried to narrate the demolition and social transformation of my city. Now I feel necessary to go deeper inside the characters and to discover the motives which are behind the successful surface of our times.

   

  작품소개
  베이징에 살고 있는 부유한 중년 여성 니우니우는 남편이 자신의 친구들 중 한명과 불륜에 빠져 있음을 느낀다. 니우니우는 그 여자가 누군지 밝혀내기로 결심하고 친구 3명을 초대하여 진실게임을 시작한다. 하지만 그녀가 예견했던 것과는 달리 그녀들 간의 대화는 과거의 기억과 현재, 욕망과 현실 사이를 표류하며 정처 없이 떠돈다.

  About Film
  Niuniu, who is wealthy middle-aged woman living in Beijing, finds that her husband is having an affair with one of her friends. Deciding to find out who she is, She invites  her 3 friends and starts to play Truth or Dare. However, their talk aimlessly drifts around memories of the past and current, and between desire and reality.
