  시놉시스
  목숨 걸고 북한을 도망쳐 나와 남한에 왔지만 남쪽에서의 생활은 또 다른 방식으로 영철의 생존을 위협한다. 어디를 가도 인간의 존엄성 따위는 찾아 볼 수 없는... 마치 정글 같은
  “대한민국” 영철에게 있어 평생이라는 시간이 지나도 씻을 수 없을 그곳의 기억은 남한에서도 유령처럼 영원히 그를 따라 다닐 것이다.

  Synopsis
  Even though Young-chul escaped North Korea because of hard life, life in South Korea also has been threatening. Like a jungle, wherever he goes, he can't find the human dignity in both Koreas. Bad memories from the North still haunt him and will do all his life.

  영화 <경계인>은 탈북자가 바라보는 남한 사회의 모습을 다루고 있다.
  우리는 그들이 처한 현실과 그들의 기억에 대해서 얼마나 공감하고 있는가.
  이 영화는 우리가 살고 있는 사회의 어두운 부분을 드러내고 같은 땅에서 함께 살고 있는 우리들에게 어떻게 해야 될지 물어보기 위해 기획 되었다.

  Director’s Statement
  In this story, Young-chul couldn't get into the South Korean society and has hard time to find himself because he has to live with trauma that he got while escaping from North Korea. The first purpose of this movie is to urge that we need to look back ourself in the society. The second is that we need to get an answer from what is right and what is wrong.

  1988년 부산 출생으로 임권택영화예술대학 졸업 예정이며 현재는 다음 영화 기획과 함께
  영화 대학원을 준비 중이다. <경계인> 은 감독의 다섯 번째 연출작이다.

  시놉시스
  사건은 초여름에 벌어진다. 편모 아래에서 자란 소년 Wu Di는 엄마의 재혼을 막기 위해 몰래 국립대학 입학시험 준비를 그만 두게 되고, 그의 어머니가 바래왔던 아름다운 삶에 대한 희망은 갈기갈기 찢겨진다. Wu Di는 스스로가 가족에게 불행을 몰고 왔다고 자책하게 된다. 하지만 동시에, 어머니가 이 일로 크게 상처를 받아도 지금처럼 계속해서 자신을 사랑해 줄 거라는 걸 깨닫게 된다. 이 일을 계기로 Wu Di는 다른 가족들에게 밝은 미래의 희망을 안겨주는 것이 가족의 유대감을 다지는 데 있어서 중요한 요소라는 것 또한 깨닫게 된다. 그의 어머니가 절망적인 관계에서 벗어나지 못 하고 힘겨워할 때, 그는 진정한 남아로써 책임지는 행동을 한다. 이번 여름은 영원할 것이다. 엄마와 가족으로부터 받은 사랑 덕에 소년은 미성숙한 소년에서 한 명의 진정한 남자로 성장하게 된다. 

  Synopsis
  The story happens in the early summer. Wu Di, a boy who grows in a single-parent family quits the National College Entrance Examination secretly to announce his objection of his mother’s remarriage, it tears his mother’s longing for beautiful life into stripes. Wu Di thinks he have brought disaster to the family, but then he finds out that though his mother gets hurt from this badly, she still and will always love and care about him the same. This makes him understand that the key point of kinship is to give other members of the family bright future. When his mother is trapped in a failed relationship, Wu Di acts as a true man to take on his responsibilities. This summer will be endless, love from a mother and love from the family makes an immature boy grows into a man.

  시놉시스
  사회복지사 원미가 시각장애인 윤선을 바라보는 눈빛이 사뭇 애틋하다. 어느 날 윤선에게 한통의 편지가 배달된다. 원미로부터 발신인의 이름을 듣게 된 윤선은 그 편지를 거절하고, 원미는 그런 윤선을 보며 안타까워한다. 어느 맑은 날, 결심에 찬 표정으로 윤선의 집을 향하는 원미는 여느 때처럼 한통의 편지가 쥐어져 있다.

  Synopsis
  Won-mi, a social worker cares for Yoon-seon, a blind woman. Once day, a letter is delivered to Yoon-seon. When she heard the name of the sender by Won-mi, Yoon-seon denies receiving the letter. For some reason or other, Won-mi feels sad for that. One fine day, Won-mi goes out for visiting Yoon-seon, with a piece of mail. She looks determined this time.

  
  연출의도

  맑은 하늘에 우산을 쓴다는 것은 어찌 보면 아이러니할 수 있다. 평안한 일상을 이어나가는 사람들. 우리가 볼 수 없는 그 당연함의 저 편에는 상상할 수 없는 척박한 현실이 비처럼 휘몰아치고 있는 것이 아닐까? 우리의 평안한 삶. 그것은 온힘으로 우산을 펼쳐 맑은 하늘을 만들어 주는 누군가가 있기 때문일 지도 모른다. 무사한 오늘 하루. 그 이면에 존재하는 보이지 않는 희생에 대해 한번 쯤 생각해 볼 수 있는 기회를 만들고 싶었다.

  Director’s Statement
  Carrying an umbrella in good weather can be ironical. Many people live common and comfortable lives. Even though many of us can't imagine what's happening, can it be possible there is some place where unimaginable harsh realities may rush like a angry raindrops. The reason that we enjoy this comfortable life is... I think it is the sacrifice of someone who is making a shiny sky for us against rainy realities. Safety life on today, I want to make an opportunity to remind people to think about sacrifices those exist in the other side we can't feel.

  시놉시스
  할머니가 요양병원 가기 전날 요양병원에 가기 싫은 할머니는 기분이 상해있고 현진은 그런 할머니가 귀찮기만 하다. 어린 시절 할머니로 인해 상처 받은 현진은 할머니가 떠나도 아무렇지 않을 것이라고 생각했는데 할머니가 떠나고 난 후 할머니와의 추억이 즐거웠다는 것을 알게 된다.

  Synopsis
  Just a day before her grandma leaves for a sanatorium, she seems to feel offended but Hyun-jin dosen't care. In fact, Hyun-jin dosen't like her because of the wound she got from grandma when young. After grandmother's leaving, however, she finds out that she had good memories with grandma and misses her.

  할머니의 편애 때문에 할머니와 사이가 좋지 않던 손녀가 할머니가 요양병원으로 간 후 할머니를 그리워하는 것을 보여줌으로써 가족의 소중함을 알리고자 합니다.
  Director’s Statement
  Because of her grandmother's favoritism, a girl dosen't like her grandmother. After grandmother's leaving for a sanatorium, however, she misses her. This film is to emphasize the importance of family.

  시놉시스
  Wang Sen의 직업은 교통 경찰관이다. 매일 그는 똑같은 사거리에서 일을 하면서, 교통법규를 위반한 사람들과 가끔 농담 따먹기도 한다. 어느 날 그는 과속에 무면허인 미모의 여성에게 딱지를 떼려고 하다가 언젠가 자신을 집까지 태워주겠다는 약속을 받아내고 Sen은 그녀를 보내준다. 그때부터 그 여성은 Sen을 매일 집까지 태워다 주고, 집으로 가는 동안 그들은 이야기를 주고받으며 즐거운 시간을 보낸다. Sen이 결혼했다는 것을 알고 나서부터 둘 사이에서 불편한 기운이 감돌기 시작한다. 며칠이 지난 후, 그녀는 곧 결혼할 거라고 Sen에게 말하고는 평소처럼 그를 집에 데려다준다. 그리고 이 마을을 곧 떠날 것이라고 말한다. Sen은 뭔가를 말하고 싶지만 머뭇거리기만 한다. 다음 날, Sen은 고속도로에서 사고가 났고, 사고 차량의 무면허 운전자가 바로 그녀라는 것을 무전기를 통해 듣게 된다. Sen은 그가 일하는 사거리를 헤매다가 그녀를 처음 만났던 그날 딱지를 떼었던 한 운전사를 우연히 만난다. 그 운전사의 이야기를 듣는데, 그의 뒤에서 친숙했던 경적소리가 들리고, Sen은 눈물을 참으려 애쓴다.

  Synopsis
  Wang Sen is a traffic police officer. Everyday he works at the same crossroad, making gags with people who get punished for traffic violation. One day, he was about to cite a beautiful girl who was both overspeed and driving without a license but promised to give him a lift back home some other time. Sen let her go. From then on, the girl drove Sen home everyday and they enjoyed their time chatting on the way. On knowing Sen was a married man, things started to grow awkward between the two. After a short while, the girl told Sen that she was about to get married. She drove him home as usual, told him she’s heading out of town and left. Sen wanted to say something but hesitated. The next day, Sen heard in the intercom that there was an accident on the highway out of down and the driver was a girl, without a license. Sen wandered to the crossroad where he worked and came across the driver he cited at the very day he met the girl. On hearing him talking, Sen tried to hold back his tears when he heard the familiar honk behind him….
