  리뷰 _ 이상훈
  숨을 쉬는 데 반드시 필요한 ‘공기’와 같이 너무도 당연하게 항상 있었고 또 보이지 않기에  소중함을 잊고 마는 것이 있다. 삶의 긴 길을 함께 했기에 이제는 늙어버린 부인에게 일어날 수 있는 인생의 끝 그리고 영원한 이별에 대한 조짐이 보인다. 이 사건은 남편으로 하여금 더 이상 젊지 않은 자신의 현실을 있는 그대로 받아들여 현재를 사랑하며 결국 함께한 사람의 소중함을 일깨우게 한다. 단순하면서도 명확하고 또 효과적인 시나리오와 차분하고 잔잔한 연출이 서로 잘 어울린 작품으로 공들여 찍은 것이 분명한 컷들이 이야기와 정서적으로 훌륭하게 연결된 작품이다.

  There is a thing that we forget because it has been always with us just like the 'air' for us to breathe. There is an indication that an old woman's life is going to be over soon, bidding the husband who has had a life together for a long time an eternal farewell.  This incidence causes the husband to accept that he is not young any more and should love his present, and in the end to awaken the importance of a person who shared his life. A simple, clear, and effective scenario and calm and stable directing goes well. Also elaborate clear-cuts which must have been taken carefully are well connected with the story emotionally.

  경영공학을 공부한 후 브뤼셀에서 영화와 연기수업을 듣고 이 분야로 진출하기로 결심했다. 브뤼셀의 한 제작사에서 현장경험을 쌓은 후 브뤼셀 단편영화제에서 몇 년 동안 일해 왔다. <무슨일이 일어나든지>는 감독으로서의 첫 작품이다(공동감독 - Mathieu Bergeron). 막심은 현재 새로운 영화 프로젝트를 진행 중이며 파리 소재의 일본방송사에서도 일하고 있다.

  Maxime Feyers studied Management Engineer and then also attended film and acting classes in Brussels and decided to work in that field. After a small experience in a production company in Brussels, has been working with the Brussels Short Film Festival for several years.
  is his first film as a director (co-directed with Mathieu Bergeron).
  Maxime now develops his other film projects and also works in Paris for Japanese television.

  모든 출품작을 통틀어 3D 그래픽스 기술의 완성도에 있어 최고에 서 있는 작품으로 기술 뿐 아니라 프로덕션 디자인의 수준과 애니메이션 수준 역시 최상급이다. 또한 이 애니메이션은 그러한 프로덕션 수준에 걸맞은 통쾌한 풍자를 보여주고 있는데, 화려하기 그지없는 프랑스 궁정의 이면을 닭을 의인화해 신랄하게 풍자하고 있다. 애니메이션을 보는 내내 캐릭터들의 의상과 움직임들에서 눈을 떼지 못하게 하고 있다.

  Among all the entries, this is the best quality film in 3D graphic technology as well as in the production design and animation. Also this animation is a stinging satire on the truth behind the gorgeous French court personifying hens and roosters to match the production quality. You will find out that you can't take your eyes off the characters' costumes and movements while watching.

  만약 당신이 숨을 쉴 수 없다면 어떤 기분일까? 이것은 다른 누군가에게 하지 않는, 하지만 우리 자신에게는 종종 하게 되는 드문 질문이다. 인생은 감정들로 가득 찬 신비한 여행이다. 어떤 감정들은 즐겁지만, 아닌 것들도 있다. <내가.......숨 쉬고 있는가?>는 역동적인 네 명에 대한 인물화로 인간의 삶과 분투의 모든 면을 담아내고 있다.

  Synopsis
  How would you feel, if you are not able to breathe?  This is a rare question that we might ask to anyone but yes, we ask this often to ourselves. Life is a mystic journey full of emotions, some emotions are invited and some are not. is portrayal of four dynamic characters, which represents all aspects of human life and struggle.

   

  연출의도
  <내가.......숨 쉬고 있는가?>는 내가 썼던 시의 본질로부터 그려진 것이다. 나는 모든 사람들의 삶에서 보이는 다양한 감정과 노력에 감동을 받았다. 이 이야기는 네팔에서 가장 큰 축제인 더서인이 매년 돌아오는 모습과 네팔인들에 대한 이야기이다. 우리 모두의 삶이 항해하는 동안 우리는 정치적 소용돌이에 의한 태풍을 만나기도 한다. 사람들은 대부분 겉으로는 이를 무시하지만 조용하고 냉담하게 무슨 일이 벌어지고 있는지를 관찰한다. 사람들처럼 심지어 국가도 숨을 쉬기 위해, 그리고 자신의 운명을 발견하기 위해 노력한다. 어떤 사람들은 충분한 물질적 풍요를 누리면서도 죽을 때까지 도둑질을 한다. <내가.......숨 쉬고 있는가?>는 자신들의 잦아지는 호흡과 자신들을 제외하고는 아무것도 없는 그린치에서 스스로를 발견하는 네 사람의 삶에 대한 독특한 이야기이다.
  Director’s Statement
  is also drawn from essence of one of my poem; I was touched with various aspects of our feelings and struggle seen in every individual’s life. While this is a story of every Nepali for who struggle and pain comes like how Dashain (biggest festival in Nepal) comes every year. While all our individual life is sailing, we are also taken with the storm brought by the political turmoil. People choose to ignore but despite of ignorance, who it impacts us yet we keep quiet and stay aloof, watching what is going to happen. Like the person, even country struggles to breathe and find its own fate.
  Some people have all basic needs and yet they crib till they die, is unconventional story about 4 lives who literally have found themselves in a Grinch, where there is nothing left apart from them and their dying breathe. We should value what we have, life is short it starts and ends at a point and it may be too late before we even realize.

  2005년 2월, 국가 비상사태를 선포하고 수많은 야당 정치인과 반군들을 감옥과 죽음의 숲으로 몰아넣으며 절대왕정의 부활을 꿈꾼 네팔의 마지막 국왕 이었던 갸넨드라의 목소리가 TV화면 속에 중계된다. 어쩌면 숨을 탁 막히게 하는 그 낮은 목소리는 영화 속에 등장하는 각기 다른 네 사람의 삶속에 그대로 투영되어 숨을 옥죄여 온다. 민주화의 바람 속에 현재는 공화국으로 자리 잡은 네팔의 공기 속에는 아직도 내전의 상처로 인한 망령들이 떠돌고 있는 것일까, 우리가 간과했던 네팔투쟁의 역사와 삶 속의 숨을 부산에서 함께 들이마시며 호흡하는 영화가 되었으면 한다.

  In February of 2005, the last King of Nepal, Gyanendra, declares a state of national emergency whose voice is broadcast in TV. He drove many opposition politicians and rebels into prison and forest of death and pursued a revival of the absolute monarchy. That low voice, maybe knocking the wind out of people, starts to suffocate, being reflected in the lives of four different people in the movie. Due to the wounds of the civil war are the specters still wandering in the air of the Nepal, which is now a Republic under the name of democratization? I hope we can breathe in the history and life of the Nepalese struggle we have overlooked through this movie.

  산토슈 바타라이 Santosh Bhattarai
  <내가.......숨 쉬고 있는가?>는 산토슈 바타라이의 첫 번째 영화로 시나리오와 감독을 맡았다. 그는 프로듀서와 공동 집필자로서 많은 단편영화에서 활약해왔다. 현재는 두 개의 단편영화를 준비하고 있다. 걸프만과 다른 지역에서의 이주 노동자에 대한 것과 네팔 경찰 병력에서의 여성 권한 부여에 관한 내용이다. 
  is Santosh Bhattarai’s(director) first film as a writer / director. He have worked in many short films as a producer, co-writer. Currently he is working on two shorts; migrant workers in Gulf countries and other parts of the world and on women empowerment in Nepali Police force.

  그럼에 자연스레 피해를 받는 초등학생 정호.
  그 속에서 열리는 과학경시대회. 정호는 고무동력기의 첫 시험비행을 하는데.....

  Synopsis
  A troublesome elementary school suffering a problem caused by a food poisoning incident. Jung-ho's father gets lashed out as the wrongdoer.
  An elementary student Jung-ho eventually suffers condemns and mental damages.
  Meanwhile, the science contest starts.
  And Jung-ho's rubber engine is about to make its maiden flight......

  리뷰 _ 김병철
  과학용 글라이더 비행기를 만드는 한 소년이 있다. 학교에서 있을 과학 경진대회에 참여할 예정이다. 하지만 소년의 아버지는 소년이 다니는 학교 앞에서 군것질 노점상을 한다. 그의 아버지가 판 음식이 불량식품으로 문제가 되면서 과학경시대회에서 자신의 글라이더를 멋지게 뽐내려는 소년의 작은 꿈은 흔들리기 시작한다.
  최윤태 감독의 시험비행은 답답한 현실에서 벗어나려는 한 소년의 꿈을 과학용 글라이더를 통해서 풀어내려고 한다. 한 소년의 일상과 아이들의 세계 속으로 현실이라는 어른들의 세계가 침입해 들어오는 순간을 담담하게, 하지만 날카롭게 포착한다.

However, his father runs a snack stand in front of his school and snacks he sold cause unsanitary problems. His little dream of showing off his glider at the competition begins to crumble away.
  , directed by Choi Yoon-tae, plainly but sharply captures daily life of a boy who desires to escape from frustrating reality and achieve his dream through a scientific model glider, and moments that the realm of adults what is called reality invades into that of children.
