  시놉시스
  위게트와 앙드레는 수십 년간 함께 살아왔다. 어느 날 아침 갑자기 앙드레가 죽었다. 위게트에게는 딸이 있었지만 무력감을 달래주지는 못했다. 장례식 날, 이상한 사건이 상황을 바꾸어놓는다. 앙드레가 다시 살아난 것이다. 과부가 된 위게트에게는 남편과 살아갈 두 번째 기회가 생긴 것이다. 
  Synopsis
  Huguette and André, two old people live together since many decades. One morning, André suddenly died. Huguette is helpless, despite the presence of her daughter. The day of the funeral a strange event changes the situation: André comes back to life. For the widow it looks like a second chance to live with her husband.

  단편영화에서 죽음이란 자주 등장하는 소재이며, 주제로써 전면에 배치되기도 하고 때론 극적인 상황으로 소비되기도 한다. 하지만 죽음을 추상적인 것이 아니라 육체적인 것으로 드러내는 영화는 드물다. 인물의 삶을 들여다보는 것처럼, 숨이 멎는 과정을 고요하게 응시하고, 애정 어린 시선으로 주검의 발을 지켜보는 이 영화는 그래서 힘이 있다. 생의 마감을 앞둔 노부부의 애틋한 사랑이 그들의 세세한 습관과 몸짓, 함께한 공간을 통해 조용히 숨을 쉬는 것처럼 그려진다.
  Review _ HONG Eun-mi
  Death is the regular subject in short films. Sometimes it is put in front or sometimes used as a dramatic event. However, those short films get interests in the abstract points not in the physical ones. Unlike other short films, this film stares at the dying at their feet with endearing eyes, just as we watch the living. Before the end of old couple's lives, their love is described as they breathe calmly through their habits and gestures, shared spaces.

  얀 들라트르 Yann Delattre
  얀 들라트르는 프랑스 북부의 칼레 근처 작은 마을에서 출생, 성장했다. 어린아이였을 때, <죠스>에 크게 감명 받고 직업을 결정했다. 처음에는 판타지영화에 빠져서 스필버그에서부터 할 하트리의 영화까지 모든 종류를 섭렵했다. 영화감독이 되는 것을 진지하게 고민한 뒤 대학에서 문학을 전공한 후 2008년 페미스 영화학교에 입학했다. <국화도 꽃이다>는 그의 졸업 작품이다.

  Yann Delattre is born and raised in the north of the France, in a little town nearby Calais. When he was a kid, really impressed him and decided of his vocation. First fanatic of fantastic movies, he enjoyed all the kind of cinema, from Spielberg to the first Hal Hartley’s films. Quickly he seriously thought becoming a film director. After his graduation in literature at the University, he entered La fémis in 2008. is his graduation film.

  시놉시스
  사냥꾼이 늑대소년을 발견하고 문명으로 데리고 간다. 낯설고 새로운 환경에서 고립된 소년은 숲에서 그를 안전하게 보호해주었던 전략을 사용하면서 적응하려고 노력한다.
  Synopsis
  A wild boy is found in the woods by a solitary hunter and brought back to civilization. Alienated by a strange new environment, the boy tries to adapt by using the same strategies that kept him safe in the forest.

   

  연출의도
  소우사 감독은 인간본성의 원형과 우리의 이성과 무의식 사이의 내적 분투를 탐구하기 위해서 신화나 동화에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 주제와 애니메이션을 사용한다. 감독은 전통적인 내러티브를 따르기보다는 화가의 관점에서 영화 만들기에 접근하고 있다. 그는 순식간에 사라지는 순간, 기억, 인식이 얼마나 부서지기 쉬운지를 상기시키면서 마음의 상태에 초점을 맞춘다.
  Director’s Statement
  In his work, Sousa uses animation and themes commonly found in mythology and fairy tales to examine archetypes of human nature, and the inner struggles between our intellects and our unconscious drives. Rather than following conventional narratives, he approaches film making from a painter’s perspective. He focuses on states of mind, evoking the fragility of fleeting moments, memories and perceptions.

  야생에서 자란 늑대아이의 이야기를 통해서 인간의 이성과 무의식적 본능 간의 투쟁을 심리적으로 보여주고 있다. 한편으로는 상투적인 이야기로 보일 수 있으나 작가의 독특한 회화적 질감으로 작품의 깊이와 흥미를 배가시킨다. 절정 부분에서 메타몰퍼스기법을 훌륭하게 사용하면서 작품의 완성도를 끌어 올린다.

  Through the story of a wolf child, this films shows the struggle between reason and the unconscious instincts of human. In one hand, it could be seen as a cliche story but the artist's unique pictorial texture multiplied its depth and interests. In the climax part, meta-morphous techniques were used marvelously boosting its quality.

  구병은 무작정 떠난 여행에서 우연히 만난 조송에게 밥을 얻어먹고, 구병에게 밥 한 끼 대접한 조송은 구병을 자꾸 아들이라 부르고, 자신을 자꾸 아들이라 부르는 조송이 구병은 이해가 안 간다.
  Synopsis
  Gu-byung is on his journey around the country. One day, he meets an old man called Jo-song in a small village. Jo-song keeps introducing Gu-byung as his son, and offers a free meal at his place.

  한겨울 매서운 바람을 뚫고 자전거 여행을 떠난 청년의 성장담과 한적한 마을에서 만난 사람들의 비밀스러운 삶이 서로를 바라보고 있다. 이 영화는 조금씩 알게 되는 타인의 시간과 삶을 그저 지켜보는 것이 아니라 주인공의 경험을 따라 우연히 타인의 삶에서 깨닫게 되는 비밀과 진실, 삶의 우연과 성장의 순간을 우리에게도 제시한다. 섬세한 연출의 힘은 세심하게 조율된 리듬, 풍경과 인물을 담아내는 구도의 정확함, 여정의 고단함과 차가움까지 담아내는 촬영에서 찾을 수 있지만 무엇보다 타인의 삶을 존중하는 감독의 태도에서 비롯된 것이라 더욱 반갑게 다가온다.
  Review _ PARK In-ho
  This film tells us a story about a young man who goes on a bicycle trip against the biting winter wind, and people whom he met in a quiet village. We don't just watch  other lives but realize the secret and truth from their lives by chance through the main character's experience. The movie also provides us a moment of growth. The delicate power of direction is from carefully tuned rhythm, accurate composition of background and people, and filming tiredness and hardness of the trip. Above all, it is from the attitude of the director who respects other lives.

  11명의 이방인들이 함께 밀폐된 공간에서 어딘가로 여행을 가게 된다. 가혹하고 불확실한 상황 속에서 그들은 생존을 위해 서로에게 의지해야 하지만 자신이 가진 편견과 두려움에 직면한다. 정의되지 않은 시간동안 이 무리의 변화는 바깥 세상에 대한 반영을 낳는다. 
  Synopsis
  Eleven strangers are forced to share a confined space on a journey into the unknown. Under severe and uncertain circumstances they face their own prejudice and fears while, having to depend on each other in order to survive. During an undefined period of time the dynamics of the group creates a reflection of the world outside.

  당신은 매일 이러한 내용을 신문에서 볼 것이다. 인간들이 다른 어딘가에서 더 나은 무언가를 찾기 위해 어떻게 스스로를 위험에 몰아넣는지. <소사이어티>를 통해서 11명의 이방인들이 제한된 공간을 공유하도록 함으로써 도피의 심리와 복합성을 탐구하고 싶었다.
  Director’s Statement
  You see these news items in the newspaper every day. How people risk their lives for trying to find a new better one somewhere else. With , I wanted to explore the psychology and complexity of escaping, by letting eleven strangers share a confined space on journey into the unknown.

  보다 나은 삶을 위해 컨테이너에 몸을 싣고 밀입국을 시도하는 다양한 인종의 사람들. 영화는 그들의 고된 여행을 내밀한 시선으로 흑백 필름에 담아낸다. 클로즈업을 통한 등장인물의 내면적 정서의 표현, 인물들의 숨소리 하나까지 담아낸 세밀한 사운드, 폐쇄된 좁은 공간에서 각자의 생존을 위해 복합적인 관계를 맺고 있는 인물들... 미니멀리즘한 미장센을 통해 보편적 주제의식을 다루는 연출력이 돋보이는 작품.

  There are people who attempt an illegal entry into a country for the better life. Their arduous journey is displayed closely in black and white film. Closeup to express the characters' emotions, detailed sound even carrying characters' breathing, and characters having complicated relations for survival... Direction to take universal issues with minimalism mise en scéne is particularly outstanding in this film.

  얀스 아수르(1970년 4월 29일생)는 스웨덴의 사진작가이자, 영화감독, 시나리오 작가이며 영화 프로듀서이기도 하다. , <원숭이 놀래키려고 닭 죽이기>를 연출했고, 그의 첫 번째 장편영화 의 시나리오로, 2012년 선댄스 영화제에서 선댄스 / NHK 국제영화감독상을 수상했다.
