  시놉시스
  1999년 코소보전쟁. 난민행렬이 세르비아 검문소 앞에 멈춘다. 세르비아 무장군인들은 아뎀의 아들과 조카를 차에서 끌어내고 이들에게 총을 겨눈다. 아뎀은 자신의 돈으로 이들의 목숨을 살리려 하지만 둘 다를 구하기에 돈은 턱없이 부족하다. 이제 그는 아들과 조카 둘 중 한 명만을 선택해야 하는 상황에 처해있다.
  Synopsis
  War. Kosovo 1999. During a refugee line is halted at a Serbian checkpoint where the Serb paramilitary take out off the car of Adem his son and his brother's son to shoot them down. Adem attempts to buy out their lives, however since he is not able to pay for both of them, he finds himself in situation that he has to choose: to save his son or his brother's son.

  인간의 일상으로 들어온 전쟁은 인간에게 감당하기 힘든 선택을 강요한다. 1999년에 일어난 코소보 전쟁은 평범한 삶을 살아가는 사람들에게 다가왔다. 사람들은 평범한 일상을 버리고  전쟁을 피하기 위해 길을 떠난다. 하지만 전쟁은 너무도 빨리 사람들의 현실이 되어 다가왔다. 그리고 그 현실은 감당할 수 없는 상처가 된다.

  The war that enters a part of everyday life forces human beings to make a hard decision. Kosovo war in 1999 steps into people who live a simple life. People abandon their routine and start off on a long journey to avoid the war. But the war becomes a reality of lives so quickly that the reality becomes the wound which can not be recovered.

  Ujkan Hysaj is award winning director born in 1984 in Prishtina, from Kosovo.
  He finished the primary and high school in Prishtina and then he studied in Institute for Film and Photography "Gjon Mili” Prishtinë, Kosovo in a branch for Director of Photography. Directing film he finished in University Of Prishtina, Faculty of Arts in Kosovo.

  헝겊인형과 미니어처를 이용해 전통적인 퍼펫 애니메이션 기법으로 만들어진 이 애니메이션은 놀랍도록 섬뜩한 영상미와 선명한 주제의식을 가지고 있다. 애니메이션의 설정과 디자인에서 부터 인형의 제작에 이르기까지 작품의 주제와 성격에 명쾌하게 어울리는 일관된 스타일을 추구하고 있다. 첨단 애니메이션 기술에 의존하는 경우가 많아지는 오늘날의 애니메이션들에서 찾기 드문 순수한 힘을 가진 애니메이션이다.

  This animation is made with the traditional puppet animation method using rag dolls and miniature. It has amazingly eerie visuals and a clear theme. From setting up and designing of the animation to making dolls, it pursues a consistent style with its theme and characteristics. In the recent conditions that more and more animations rely on high-tech, it is hard to find out this kind of pure power of animation.

  시몽 필리오 Simon Fillot
  랭스 출신. 고등학교에서 과학을 공부했고, 그 후 문학을 거쳐 영화에 안착했다. 최근 프랑스 국립영화학교 페미스를 졸업했다. 스톱 모션 과 라이브 액션 영화을 찍는 촬영감독으로 활동 중이다.  
  Simon was born in Reims. He had a high school diploma in sciences; then he studied literature, and finally came to the cinema. He just graduated from La fémis. He works as cinematographer for stop-motion movies and live action movies

  물의 향연 Waterscope Transitions

  시놉시스
  역사에 남을 과거 영화들로부터의 사운드가 울려 퍼지는 가운데, 수로, 수문, 댐, 하수처리시설, 분수, 폭포 등이 스크린에 나타난다. 그러나 이들 중 어떤 것도 단독으로 나타나거나 화려해 보이지는 않는다. 버려지고 잊힌 듯한 이 오브제들은 물이 건축과 기술들과 만나는 장소가 되어, 물과 함께하거나 혹은 물에 대항한다. 물과 인간 사이의 대화가 오가고 그 속에서 인간은 물에 항복하기도 하고 또는 물을 객관화할 필요를 느낀다. 물은 결코 인간을 자유롭게 내버려두지 않는다. <물의 향연>의 형식적인 구성에는 에세이 영화의 전통이 담겨있다. 경제나 환경 또는 과학적 설명을 배재한 이 영화는 물의 본질로 만들어졌다.
  Synopsis
  Suffused with sounds from the history of cinema, we see waterways, locks, dams, wastewater treatment works, floodgates, fountains and waterfalls, none of which appear exclusive or spectacular. Seemingly abandoned and forgotten, they become the places where water encounters architecture and technology which, in turn, work for it, with it and against it. A dialogue between water and man takes place in which man surrenders to water or feels the need to objectify it. Water never lets him go free. In its formal composition WATER SCOPE is in the tradition of a essay film. Forgoing economic, ecological or scientific explanations, it creates itself with the essence of water.

   

  연출의도
  영화와 물은 닮은 점이 있다. 물이 저항을 만나면 방향을 바꾸는 것처럼 움직이는 이미지도 편집과정에서 방향이 바뀔 수 있다.
  Director’s Statement
  Film and water are similar. Just as water changes direction when it meets resistance, so moving images can change direction in the editing process.

  영화 속에서 보여지는 수많은 '형태'를 가진 '물'은 1940년부터 2000년 초반까지 만들어진 15편의 영화 속 대사와 함께 스크린 그리고 관객에게 '퍼져' 나간다. 때론 물이 필름으로 느껴지고, 물을 가두고 있는 댐들은 하나의 '이미지'를 가둔 '프레임'으로 다가오기도 한다. 헤라클레이토스가 바라 본 '물'처럼 지금 들려오는 영화 속 대사들은 당신이 처음 들었던 그 대사가 아닐 것이고 그 '물'이 아닐 것이다.
  사진적 구도, 감독의 시각, 고민. 여러 측면에서 애정을 가지고 바라봐야 할 작품이다.
  Review _ KIM Ji-gon
  ‘Water' which is shown in this film has many different 'forms'. This water 'spread out' to the screen and audience along with the dialogues from the 15 films which were made in from 1940s to early 2000s. In a way, water looks like a film and the dam blocking the water is like a 'frame' which holds a 'image' in it. Just like the water Heraclitus saw, the lines you are listening now are not the same ones you heard before and not the same 'water' you saw before.
  This film is worth watching having affection for photographic composition and director's perspective and concerns.

  1996년 우등으로 마이스터쉴러 취득, HBK-브라운슈바이크대학 영화전공, Birgit Hein & Gerhard Büttenbender에게 사사함. 하노버에서 거주하며 작업. HBK-브라운슈바이크대학 브리짓 하인과 게르하르드 뷰텐벤더의 제자. 최근 Hula-offline의 다큐멘터리 프로젝트에 편집자이자 프로듀서로 참여해서 많은 작업을 해왔다. 현재는 주로 영화감독과 시나리오작가로 활동 중이며 그의 영화는 전 세계에서 상영되고 있다.

  주희 The Wish

  시놉시스
  아이들이 모여서 주술의식을 벌인다. 요즘 또래 사이에서 유행하는 놀이이다. 소원을 쪽지에 적어서 인형에 넣고, 자신의 몸의 밀부를 인형에 집어넣으면 그 소원이 이루어진다고 한다. 이 세상에 간절히 바라면 이루어지지 못할 일은 없다고 한다. 갑자기 주희라는 여자아이가 굉장히 간절하게 소원을 빌기 시작한다.
  Synopsis
  There was a girl named Ju-hee at school.  One day, Ju-hee, Min-ji, and Jung-hye visit Min-ji’s house. While playing a game, Jung-hye’s words captivate Ju-hee that if someone makes an earnest wish, anything can come true and it’s just a matter of the level of desperation. That night, Ju-hee makes a very desperate wish, and her behavior scares Min-ji and Jung-hye. After that day, Ju-hee disappears, and Jung-hye and Min-ji start having nightmares about her.

   

  연출의도
  영화와 물은 닮은 점이 있다. 물이 저항을 만나면 방향을 바꾸는 것처럼 움직이는 이미지도 편집과정에서 방향이 바뀔 수 있다.
  Director’s Statement
  I wanted to make a film about an urban legend. I personally felt ghost stories are like what many people dream. I wanted to make a film that shows my desire, insecurities, guilt, and sympathetic feelings in my real life and as they are in my dream.

   

  리뷰 _ 김백준
  간절히 원하면 이루어진다는 믿음으로 주희는 친구들과 함께 그들만의 의식을 치릅니다. 주희가 원하는 것은 가장 친한 친구인 민지가 되게 해달라는 것. 의식을 끝마친 다음 날부터 주희는 자취를 감추고 주희를 괴롭혔던 아이들은 악몽에 시달리며 두려움에 떱니다. 민지가 되게 해달라던 주희의 바람은 현실이 되지만 그 현실을 지켜보는 일은 악몽을 꾸는 것만큼 두렵고 슬픕니다.
  Review _ KIM Baek-jun
  Ju-hee has a ceremony with friends in the hope that an ardent desire would be realized. Her wish is to become her best friend Min-ji. The next day of the ceremony, Ju-hee disappears and the girls who harassed her suffer from nightmares and tremble with fear. Even though Ju-hee's wish to be Min-ji is realized, watching her is as frightening as a nightmare and sad.
