시놉시스
진과 권은 어딘가 불온한 남매다. 그들의 승합차가 멈추는 길마다 사연 모를 사람들이 하나씩 차에 오른다. 진과 권은 이들과 함께 밀항을 하려 한다.
Synopsis
Jin and Kwon are rebellious brother and sister. Wherever their van stops people who have their own story get into the van. Jin and Kwon attempt to smuggle themselves with these people.

여기를 버리고 어디로든 떠나고 싶은 마음일 때가 있다. 하지만 그러면서도, 다시 여기서, 조금만 덜 비겁하게 살아보자는 다짐을 해본다.

이 영화는 죽음일 수도 있고 도피일 수도 있는 떠남에 대해 말하는 동시에 남는 자를 바라보고 있다. 밀항을 위한 것인지, 자살을 위한 것인지 분명치 않은 사람들이 자동차에 올라타고 이들은 바닷가에 도착한다. 좀처럼 보기 힘든 야광오징어, 난생 처음 본 바다의 넓음, 영정 사진 정도 가지고 있어야 하는 이들의 기묘한 현실을 핸드헬드 카메라가 뒤따르면서 지켜본다. 비밀로 가득한 서사와 불안하게 흔들리는 관계는 현실 안에 숨어 있는 초현실의 지점들을 드러내고 마지막 장면, 카메라가 멈춰 선 지점에 이르면 나쁜 꿈일 수도, 좋은 꿈일 수도 있는 간밤의 시간 또한 정지된다.

This film is talking about departure that might be death or escape and also looking at the people left behind. People get into a car for smuggling or suiciding and then they arrive at a beach. A handheld camera follows behind them and watches their odd behaviors having rare luminous squids, watching vast sea for the first time, and carrying their own portrait. Description full of mysteries and relationship nervously shaking show a surreal point hidden in reality. At the final scene, the point where the camera stops, the night time which could be a bad dream and a good dream also stops.

시놉시스
<소년>은 사회 속 보이지 않는 구성원, 불법 이민노동자인 필리핀 청소부를 조명해보는 이야기이다. 그는 이름이 없다. 그는 보이는 곳과 보이지 않는 곳 사이, 에로틱 댄서인 남자친구와 함께하는 삶과 가족 내에서 돈을 빌려주는 역할 사이의 경계지대에 산다. 이러한 상황은 남자친구가 댄스회사에 오디션을 보고, 그의 회사 사람이 자살하는 사건과 함께 변화한다. 그는 소외감을 느끼기 시작한 것이다. 이 소외감은 점점 증가하고 그 때 한 매력적인 사진작가가 그에게 관심을 갖는다. 사진작가는 그가 자신의 사진 시리즈물의 모델이 되어주길 바란다. <소년>은 타인의 그림자 속에서 하지만 또한 사랑 속에서 살아가는 삶에 대한 영화이다.    
Synopsis
is a story that zooms in on an invisible member of society, an illegal Filipino cleaner. He has no name. He lives between seen and not seen, between his life with his boyfriend, an erotic dancer, and his role as lender of his family home. This will change when his boyfriend can audition for a dance company and one of his employer commits suicide. He begins to feel alienated. This alienation increases when a charming photographer becomes interested in him and wants him as a model for a photo series. Boy is a film about living in the shadow of the other, in society, but also in love.

연출의도
삶을 뛰어넘을 수 있는 권한 없이 두 가지 세계에서 살아간다는 것이 어떤 의미인지를 <소년>을 통해서 말하고 싶다. 이것은 하나의 사회에서 존재할 권리는 없이 수행해야 할 기능만을 가지고 있는 것은 어떤 느낌인지에 대한 이야기이다. 당신이라면 과연 꿈을 가질 수 있을까?
Director’s Statement
With , I want to tell what it means to live in two worlds, and not have the power to transcend that life. It’s a story about resilience, about how it feels to not have a right to exist in a society, but do have a function in it. Can you afford to dream than?

타국에 사는 이주노동자의 삶은 자신이 살아가고 있는 사회에서 이방인이라는 배타적인 시선을 통한 근원적인 소수자의 한계를 지니게 될 것이다. 그 소수자가 동시에 동성애자라면 우리는 매우 비극적인 삶의 한 단면을 상상할 것이다. 그러나 이 영화에서 주인공은 그러한 시선과는 별개로 자신이 속한 삶에 있어서 부단한 긍정도 지나친 부정에 삶을 살아가지 않는다. 단지 그는 사랑하는 사람과 자신의 일을 묵묵히 인정하며 부딪히며 살아갈 뿐이다. 영화는 한 이주노동자의 시선을 통해 그들이 속한 공간속에서 자신의 존재를 바라보며 살아가는 삶의 모습을 세심히 조심스레 바라본다. 그 시선의 힘은 그들의 삶을 존중하고 어루만지는 감독의 연출력을 통해 크나큰 울림으로 우리에게 전달된다.

The life of immigrant workers who are living in foreign countries would have fundamental limits of minorities through the exclusive eyes telling they are aliens in society. If that minorities were homosexuals at the same time, we would imagine quite a tragic life. In this movie, however, the main character, apart from those eyes, lives not with excessive negativity nor constant positivity within the community. He just makes a living accepting his loved one and his own work. Through the eyes of an immigrant worker, this movie carefully and cautiously pictures the life of minorities who live on looking at their own presence in the space they belong to. The power of such eyes gets across to us with great reverberation through the directing power which respects and touches their lives gently.

타미 라비드 Tami Ravid
타미 라비드(1976년 11월 4일생, 이스라엘, 예루살렘)는 여섯 살 이후 네덜란드에서 살고 있다. 1998년 다큐멘터리 연구자 겸 프로듀서로 활동하기 시작했다. 네덜란드 전국방송과 지역방송에서 경험을 쌓은 후 네덜란드 영화학교에서 연출과정을 공부했고 2004년 7월 두 개의 졸업 작품을 완성했다. 다큐멘터리 단편극영화 이다. 졸업 후, 단편영화 과 많은 단편 다큐멘터리, 그리고 단편극 <소년>을 만들었다. 현재는 장편영화 시나리오와 다큐멘터리를 작업 중이다.

Tami Ravid(November 4th 1976, Jerusalem, Israel) has been living in Holland since her sixth birthday. She started working as a documentary researcher/producer in 1998. After several jobs at the national and local Dutch television she started a directing course at the Dutch Film academy, which she completed in July 2004 with two final projects: the documentary and the short fiction film . After graduation, she has completed the short fiction , many short documentaries and the single play . She is currently developing a feature film script and a feature documentary, .
