  지구상에서 가장 빨리 자라는 식물로 알려진 해조류 켈프(Kelp)는 세계 곳곳의 바다에서 거대한 숲을 이루고 있다. 그러나 지구 온난화에 의한 강한 엘니뇨현상으로 수온이 올라가 사라질 위기에 처한 켈프숲. 해양생명의 보고, 켈프숲을 보호하기 위한 다양한 과학적인 노력들을 담고 있다.

  
  

  Kelp forests are one of the most vital ecosystems in the world, sequestering more carbon than equivalent areas on land. In Northern California, more than 97% of kelp has been lost due to climate change. In fact, seaweed and kelp forests around the globe are being threatened by human activity and the global race is on to protect them.   눈 주위에 검은 원이 있어 바다의 판다로 불리는 바키타 돌고래. 멕시코 바다에만 서식하는 바키타는 계속해서 개체 수가 줄어 멸종위기가 심화되고 있다. 영국에서 그래픽디자이너로 활동하는 형제는 국제해양생물보호단체, 시셰퍼드로부터 바키타와 관련된 실크스크린 작품을 요청받고, 멕시코로 향한다.

  
  

  In the Gulf of California a small porpoise, the vaquita, which can only be found there, has been reduced to 15 animals. They are bycatch trapped in nets for an equally endangered fish, the totobua, captured for their bladders. Two British graphic design brothers were asked by the Sea Shepherd organization to create relevant silkscreen artwork.   Planktonium is a short film by Jan van IJken about the unseen world of living microscopic plankton. It is a voyage into a secret universe, inhabited by alien-like creatures. These stunningly beautiful, very diverse and numerous organisms are unknown to most of us because they are invisible to the naked eye. However, they are wandering beneath the surface of all waters around us and they are of vital importance for all life on earth.
