  진아는 어머니에게 자신이 레즈비언임을 밝힌다. 퀴어문화축제를 준비하고 있기도 하다. 미디어센터 강사인 그는, 예전에 동경했던 선생님을 수강생으로 만나게 된다. 또 퀴어를 혐오하는 사람에게 공개적으로 반대하는 의사를 표시한다. 소재와 사건이 갖는 강렬함으로 영화가 크게 출렁거릴 거라 여긴다면 당신은 이경호와 허지은의 영화를 본 적이 없다. 이들의 작업은 사회적인 이슈를 예민한 감각으로 다루는 데서 탁월함을 보여준다. 영화는 거기에 이르기 위한 가장 예의 바른 길을 탐색하며 정확한 장소에 사뿐히 안착하는 데 성공한다. 그들의 영화를 보고 있으면 영화는 사람과 세상의 일임을 새삼 깨닫게 된다.

  Jin-ah reveals to her mother that she is a lesbian. She‘s also preparing for a Queer Culture Festival. While working as a lecturer at a media center, she meets a teacher she once admired as her student. She also publicly expresses opposition to a person who hates Queer. If you think the film’s quality will fluctuate greatly with the intensity of the material and the event, you must have never seen a Lee Kyung-ho and Heo Ji-eun film. Their work is excellent in dealing with social issues with a keen sense. The film finds the most polite way to reach its destination and arrives at the right place. Therefore, when I watch their movies, I realize that movies are about people and the world they live in.

  시놉시스 Synopsis

  
  

  개발청정지역이 관광특구로 지정되려고 한다. 기업가 출신 장사장은 관광특구로 지정이 되기 전에 마을에 들어와, 관광업을 시작한다. 마을에는 야생동물의 작물피해를 막기 위해 덫이 있다.

  
  

  최초의 사고는, 관광차 마을에 온 외지 손님들의 애완견이 덫에 걸리면서 시작된다. 마을의 이장과 장사장은 마을의 발전(?)을 위해서 덫을 치우고, 피해 보상에 대한 계획을 세운다.

  
  

   

  
  

  A Restricted Development area is about to be designated as a Special Tourism Area. Mr. Jang, a former entrepreneur, enters the village before the designation and starts a tourism business. There are traps in the village to prevent crop damage from wild animals.

  
  

  The first accident happens when a tourist’s pet dog gets caught in one of the traps. The village leader and Mr. Jang remove the traps for the further development(?) of the village and devise a plan to compensate the tourist for the damages.

  장병기는 영화를 통해 인간 심리에 대한 세밀화를 그려낸다. <맥북이면 다 되지요>의 조기폐경을 맞은 어머니, <할머니의 외출>의 가족들, 그리고 <미스터 장>에 이르기까지. 이번엔 이해관계가 상충하는 두 남자다. 관광특구로 지정되려는 마을에서 산딸기를 재배하던 농민들을 대표하는 이장, 그곳을 개발하려고 들어온 사업가 장사장이 그들이다. 첨예한 갈등만 있을 것 같지만, 몇몇 계기들로 인해 그들 간에 생성되는 감정과 힘의 관계는 변화를 거듭한다. 거기에 설득력을 부여하는 건 상황뿐만 아니라 능구렁이 같은 김종구, 그에 밀리지 않고 호연 하는 임호준이다. <미스터 장>은 이 콤비의 연기력을 확인하기에 충분한 영화다.

  Jang Byung-ki draws a detailed picture of human psychology through his films. From premature menopause in to families in and now . This film is about two men with conflicting interests. One is a village representative of a village about to be designated a special tourist zone, and the other is Mr. Jang, a businessman who came to develop the village. While there would only seem to be a sharp conflict between the two, however, through various events, different emotions are generated, and their power structure is changed over and over again. What makes the movie so believable is not only the situations, but the actors, Kim Jong-gu, who perfectly personifies a sly fox, and Lim Ho-jun, who is just as clever in his acting. is a perfect show of the combination’s acting skills.

  Electronic music duo 'Noonmoon' arrived in Jinju to promote their new album. They prepare a special performance for just one person at the Gyeongsangnam-do Arboretum, which became their work's motif.   그렇다. 영화의 제목은 1960년대 미국 히피공동체의 이름이다. 이 사실을 알고 있는 당신은 록음악 팬이리. 히피, 사이키델릭, 1967년은 우리가 잊을 수 없는 역사다. 그때의 밴드가 21세기, 지금 현재 한국에 있다면? 영화는 그렇게 흥미로운 전제에서 시작한다. 뜨거운 햇볕 아래 녹음으로 가득한 수목원에서 듀오 밴드 ‘눈문’이 공연을 한다. 하지만 그 과정이 순탄하지 않다. 그들은 약에 취했고, 관객이 사라졌으며, 그들이 헤매는 세상은 이상하지만 가끔은 귀여운 동화 같다. 한여름의 오후처럼 느긋하고 나른한 영화의 흐름을 탈 준비가 되었는가? 영화가 속삭인다. 우리에게 필요한 건 사랑뿐.

  Yes. The title of this film is the name of the American Hippie Community of the 1960s. Knowing this, you must be a fan of rock music. The history of hippies, psychedelics, and 1967 is something we mustn’t forget. But what if a band from back then existed here in 21st century Korea? The film begins with this interesting premise. Under the sweltering sun, the duo band ‘NoonMoon’ performs in an arboretum full of trees. But nothing is going very smoothly. They’re drugged out, the audience is gone, and the world they wander in is strange but also sometimes like a cute fairy tale. Are you ready to ride the flow of relaxed and languid movies like a midsummer afternoon? The movie whispers. All we need is love.
