  기후위기 대응을 위해 퇴출1순위로 꼽히는 석탄화력발전소. 하지만 문제는 석탄을 태우며 발생하는 온실가스만이 아니다. 석탄이 이동하는 경로에는 우리 사회의 불평등한 구조가 숨겨져 있다. 석탄을 캐내고, 옮기고, 태우고, 버리는 전과정에서 발생하는 오염과 피해는 그간 당연하게도 지역과 노동자, 자연에 떠넘겨져 왔다. 하지만 누군가의 희생과 착취를 담보로 한 성장과 발전은 이제 한계에 다다랐다. 지금의 경제성장을 떠받치고 있는 외부화라는 뿌리 깊은 구조를 직시한다면, 우리는 지금 무엇을 바꾸어야 할까?

  Coal-fired power stations are the first to go in responding to climate crisis. However, the green-house gas released during the combustion of coal is not the only problem. We find unfair social structure on the path of coal consumption. In the whole process of mining, moving, burning and disposing coal, the contamination and damages have been pushed to the local mining areas, the laborers, and the nature. We can’t, however, continue to grow at the sacrifice of someone else. Development through exploitation has reached the end.
