• 어거스트가 부르는 하바네라 MeTube: August Sings Carmen ´Habanera´

  촌스러운 문양의 벽지와 마리아 칼라스의 액자가 걸려있는 방 안. 한 남자가 카메라를 응시한 채 경직된 표정으로 노래를 부른다. 조르쥬 비제의 오페라 <카르멘>의 하바네라가 그의 입가에서 흘러나온다. 이내 그의 늙은 어머니를 시작으로 기괴한 복장의 사람들이 화면을 가득 채운다. 유튜브 이용자들에게 바치는 헌사의 영화로 원제에는 유튜브를 패러디한 제목인 ‘미튜브’라는 신조어가 붙어있다. 유쾌하고 즐거운 유머로 가득하며 클래식 음악과 일렉트릭 음악의 이중주가 잘 어울리는 작품이다. (이상훈)

   

  어거스트가 부르는 까르미나 부라나 "MeTube 2: August Sings Carmina Burana

  한적한 광장을 산책하던 아이와 아버지가 젊은 남자와 늙은 여자의 길거리 공연을 촬영한다. 평범하던 공연이 갑자기 많은 사람들이 참여하는 거대한 플래시몹으로 변한다. 감독의 전작 <어거스트가 부르는 하바네라>(2013)를 잇는 연작으로 만들어진 영화로 전작이 웹캠의 앵글을 이용했다면, 이 작품에서는 비디오 카메라의 앵글을 사용해서 인터넷 유튜브 이용자들에 대한 오마주의 성격을 다시 한 번 분명히 한다. 환상적이고 기발한 상상력의 영상과 20세기 최고의 클래식 작품 칼 오르프의 ‘카르미나 부르나’와 테크노가 융합된 새로운 하이브리드 음악은 시각적, 청각적 즐거움을 준다.   전위 음악가인 마르탱 탤린나가 작곡하고 홍콩 뉴뮤직 앙상블이 연주한 ‘마주보기 2’를 형상화한 작품이다. 두 개의 악기 그룹이 반대되는 시간적 구조에 따라 즉흥의 단순하면서 강조 하고자 하는 소리를 내다가 결국에는 각 음악 그룹이 점진적으로 사라지는 것을 우리는 듣게 된다. 이 음악에 컴퓨터 제너레이티브 아트를 하는 감독이 컴퓨터의 알고리즘을 이용한 자신만의 독특한 비선형적 코드를 이용하여 화면 위에 이미지를 제시한다. 영상의 배경은 감독이 만든 비선형코드에 기반을 두고 있고 영상의 돌출 부분은 배경의 색을 읽는 컴퓨터 스크립트에 의해 만들어졌다.   도발적인 Sexy

   TV에서는 마일리 사이러스의 뮤직비디오 ‘We can’t stop’이 흘러나오고 이어 선풍기가 도는 볼품없는 좁은 방이 보인다. TV 화면 속 화려한 세상에서는 새하얀 옷을 입은 팝스타가 자연스럽고 요염하게 춤을 추는데, 비좁은 방 안 싸구려 시트가 깔린 침대 위에서는 까만 옷을 입은 여자가 지극히 서툰 몸짓으로 스타를 흉내 내며 도발적인 모습을 애처롭게 과시한다. 인터넷을 통한 개인과 세계의 소통을 탐구하는 감독 커드윈 아유브가 직접 배우로 출연한 영화다. (이상훈)

   

  
  컬러 영화 Colour Movie

   무정형의 액체가 해안가를 덮치는 쓰나미처럼 흰 색의 모형이 상징하는 마을을 향해 몰려든다. 까맣고 하얀 액체는 온 마을을, 사람들을 그리고 도시와 전 세계를 마치 점령군처럼 침범한다. 공적 공간을 스튜디오나 무대의 장으로 변화 시키는 개념적 형식의 즉흥 연주를 하는 음악가 마르쿠스 슈타인케이너 의 음악과 함께 생생한 화질의 4K로 촬영된 이 영화는 세상의 종말을 주제로 하는 미술 전시회를 위해 만들어진 단편영화다. (이상훈)

   

  
  혁명 “Revolution” by Gudrun Von Laxenburg

  먼 미래 속 도시. 사냥 당하고 죽음 당해야 하는 인조인간들과 사회의 일꾼으로만 사는 인조인간들 그리고 인간들이 함께 살고 있다. 위험한 빠진 다른 인조인간을 돕는 한 인조인간의 뜻밖의 행동이 모든 사회를 뒤흔든 혁명의 시발점이 된다. 미래지향적 감각의 의상과 음악으로 유명하며, 비엔나에서 활동하는 신시사이저, 드럼, 베이스 세 명으로 구성된 테크노 펑크 밴드인 구드런 폰 락센부르크의 뮤직비디오다. (이상훈)
  

   

  모든-사람 Every-One

  그림으로 된 세계. 소음으로 채워진 방들. 돌연히 등장하는 사람들. 점점 커지는 소음과 함께 사람들이 변화한다. 장엄한 음악의 등장과 함께 집을 나와 온 도시를 특이한 대형을 갖추고 이상한 걸음걸이와 무표정한 표정으로 걷는 사람들은 목적지가 없는 듯 도시의 이 곳 저곳을 걷는다. 닌텐도 게임 젤다의 ‘사리아의 노래’를 배경음악으로 ‘도시 공간 안에서의 육체들’이라는 연작 중의 한 편으로 제작되었고, 도시 속 평범한 영웅인 개인들에게 바쳐진다. (이상훈)
  

   

  망토 The Cloak

   정체를 알 수 없으며 이유를 알 수 없는 공포를 불러 일으키는 묘한 영상이 음악의 리듬과 완벽한 조응하는 아주 짧은 단편 영화. 음악을 이루는 모든 소리가 영상으로 변화되며, 모든 영상은 바로 소리의 파동을 고스란히 기록한다. 비쥬얼 아티스트이자 실험 음악을 하는 더 학산 클로크의 음악이 비디오 아티스트 에윱 쿠스에 의해 시각과 청각에 바로 작용하는 작품으로 만들어진다. (이상훈)
  

   

  슬픈 사막 - 어떤 로봇의 이야기 Tristes Déserts – A Robot’s Tale

  텅 빈 무대로 오른 청소부는 무대 위 덩그러니 세워진 옷을 발견한다. 중세와 미래가 혼합된 기묘한 옷에 몸을 댄 순간 세상은 환상의 무대로 변하고 기묘한 무중력의 세계에서 그는 눈을 뜬다. 흑, 백, 분홍빛 컬러의 오묘한 조화와 대비로 이뤄진 세계를 통과한 후 이름 모를 사막을 홀로 걷는다. 17세기 음악가 마크 앙트완 샤르팡티에의 바로크 클래식과 21세기 오스트리아의 일렉트릭 듀오 오스트리안 어패럴의 SF를 연상시키는 음악의 합주는 영상과 함께 우리를 환상의 세계로 인도한다. (이상훈)

  다니엘 모쉘(Daniel Moshel)
  Daniel Moshel was born in Germany and currently lives in Vienna. Login2Life (2011) was his first feature documentary. Metube, his first short/music video, was an homage to thousands of ambitious YouTube users and video bloggers. It became a YouTube classic, participated at more than 300 festivals screenings (including the Sundance Film Festival) and has won 30 awards so far.   dextro (Walter Gorgosilits) was born in 1968 in Moedling, Austria. After Matura at AHS Moedling Keimgasse he took up graphic design and photographic studies at The Graphical in Vienna´s 14th District. Since 1992 he has been working as freelance graphic designer for various clients, mainly advertsing agencies and architects. Since 1994 he he has been running his website dextro.org, showing experimental, non-commercial graphic design and algorithmically generated art. 1997 - 2001 he has been running turux.org showing interactive generative art (of which Lia contributed 27 percent. turux.org won Design Austria´s Josef Binder Award). Between 1995 - 2002 he lived and worked in Berlin and Tokyo (where he started 2334.org, dedicated to apply algorithmic works in advertising) Dozens of publications in graphic design books and exhibitions, among them personal invitations to Mexico City and Shanghai. Since 2009 he paints algorithmic images with oils on canvas and had several solo exhibitions.

  빌리 도르너(Willi Dorner)
  Willi Doener lives and works as choreographer in Vienna. His article creations include stage performansces, site-specifilc projects, which are presentede all over the world, photography, films,animations and installations. Together with the photographer Lisa Rastl he published th photo book "bodies in urban space" about the same-maned performance. He alsocreated short films with different Austrian filmmakers: "TREID"(1999), "mazy"(2003), "body tail" and "fleetiog"(2009), "set in motion"(2012) and "every-one"(2015). He was awarded for his films at Pearls 07 - International Dance Film Festival Berlin and at Choregeaphic Captures - Film Festival Munich 2009. Above that, ho won the Osterreichischer Tanzproductionsperis in 2000 and several international choreographic competitions. For the installation "bodies in urban spaces" he received the prize BLAULAUT for interdisciplinary art from KOINZI-DANCE Hamburg in 2011.

  슈테파니 빈터(Stephanie Winter)
  슈테파니 빈터는 2001년부터 2007년까지 비엔나예술학교와 베를린예술대학교에서 순수 회화와 후기 개념미술을 공부했다. 2009년 그녀의 첫 단편 <도플갱어>(2009)는 오스트리아 디아고날 영화제를 비롯, 각종 해외 영화제 소개되었을 뿐 아니라, 2010 부산국제단편영화제에서 우수작품상을 수상했다. 또한 최근작 <슬픈 사막 - 어떤 로봇의 이야기>(2015)는 홍콩영화제에 소개된 이후, 비엔나독립단편영화제에서 베스트오스트리안음악영화상 을 수상한 바 있다. 그녀는 영화뿐만 아니라 비디오아트 전시, 회화에도 많은 관심을 가지고 작업을 계속 해오고 있으며, 살롱 하이브리드 프로덕션의 설립자이자 예술감독이기도 하다. <br>She studied Painting & Post-Conceptual Art Practices from 2001 – 2007 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the Berlin University of Arts. 2009 her first short film The Doppelganger (2009) was premiered at the Diagonale in Graz. In 2010 she won the “Excellence Award” at the Busan International Short Film Festival. Her new Film Tristes D éserts - A Robots Tale (2015) was premiered at the Hong Kong Film festival and was awarded for “Best Austrian Music Video” at the Vienna Independent Shorts. Preferably she works on on large-scale film-, video and installation-projects but also devotes her time to painting. Stephanie Winter is founder and artistic director of the experimental performance & production platform Salon Hybrid.
