  유대교 축제인 초막절 전날, 12살 소년 이스라엘에겐 초막을 지을 수 있는 마지막 기회이다. 그러나, 사이가 매우 좋지 않은 형 18살 와라타우는 초막 지을 나무를 줍기 위한 삼륜 오토바이를 동생에게 빌려주지 않는다. 에티오피아에서 태어난 와라타우의 생일이 바로 그날이고, 친구들 중 누구도 와라타우를 믿지 않는다는 사실을 알게 된 이스라엘은 형에게 한 가지 제안을 한다. 그러나 하지만 이스라엘의 오만한 태도로 인해 이 제안은 바로 깨져버린다. 형제의 관계가 최악이 되어버린 순간이 되어서야 이스라엘은 형을 새로운 시각에서 보게 되고 부서진 관계를 회복하기 위해 노력하기로 결심한다.
