  미얀마의 저명한 작가 찌에의 1955년 작 소설을 영화로 만들었다. 나지 감독의 장편영화 데뷔작으로 각색과 프리프로덕션에 상당 시간 공을 들였다. 영화가 공개되자 1940~50년대 당시의 사회상은 물론 의상, 인테리어 등을 디테일하게 재현해냈다고 찬사를 받았다. 촬영과 연출, 배우들의 연기도 평단과 관객 모두에게 호평을 받았다. 특히 배우 빠잉표두는 극의 중심인 미를 완벽하게 소화함으로써 보는 이로 하여금 그녀에게 빠져들 수밖에 없게 만든다.

  
  

   

  
  

  Following the end of the World War II, a young man working in a lumber camp agonizes over his love for a woman named Mi and ends up taking his own life. The young man's boss, Thaw Swe, takes responsibility for this unfortunate incident and resigns from his post before setting out to meet Mi in person.

  
  

  Director Na Gyi's feature debut is based on the eponymous 1955 novel by the renowned Burmese writer Kyi Aye. The director spent a considerable amount of time and effort working on pre-production of the adaptation, which, upon release, instantly garnered praise for its detailed period costumes, settings, and representation of 1940s and 50s society. Mi has been favorably received by both critics and viewers alike for its cinematography, directing, and acting. In particular, Paing Phyoe Thu's impeccable portrayal of Mi draws audiences deeper into the film's central character.
