  1950년 9월 23일 유엔사령부의 부산 지역 탈환 직후, 150명의 스웨덴 의료진 및 의료 지원단이 대한민국 부산항에 도착했다. 부산시 북부에 배치된 이들은 도착 이틀 후부터 68명의 환자를 치료하기 시작했다. 미국과 한국을 제외한 최초의 의료 지원단이었다.

   

   <한국전과 스웨덴 사람들>은 한국전쟁으로 부상당한 군인과 민간인 환자를 치료하기 위해 머나먼 한국 땅을 찾은 스웨덴 사람들에 대한 다큐멘터리 영화이다.

  
  

  스웨덴 역사상 최대 규모의 인도적 지원으로 1950년 부산 스웨덴 적십자 야전병원 건립을 위해 수많은 자원봉사자들이 한국에 도착했다. 69년이 지나 현재는 노령이 된 이들의 이야기는 스웨덴과 한국이 어떻게 관계를 맺고 우정을 나누며 끈끈한 유대를 지속하게 되었는지 보여준다. 양국이 현대 민주국가로 거듭나 국제 관계를 이루어 온 데 대한 이해를 돕는 아주 중요하고 감동적인 이야기이다.

  
  

  전쟁의 결과에 대해 결론지어 이야기 할 수 없지만, 스웨덴의 기여는 한국전쟁 전후 관계된 모든 이들에게 큰 영향을 미치며 귀감이 되었다. <한국전과 스웨덴 사람들>은 AMF 재단 소유의 AKA영화사에서 제작했다.

  
  

  On September 23, 1950, short after the UNC breakout from the Busan perimeter, 150 Swedish medical and other field hospital personal arrived in Busan harbor, South Korea. They were deployed just north of the city and received their first 68 patients two days later. By that, the first non-American/Korean medical unit, during the Korean war, was established.

  
  

  The Swedes in the Korean war is a historical documentary about the men and women who traveled to the far away Korea and their meetings with wounded soldiers and local patients. With the largest humanitarian undertaking ever made by Sweden, in 1950 volunteers rushed to help setting up the Swedish Red Cross Field Hospital in Busan. This was 69 years ago. Today the aging Swedish samaritans can testify how the Korean war became the start of new relations, new friendships, and lasting, strong bonds between Sweden and Korea. These are stories never told before and are an important and touching part of our understanding of the building of democratic nations and their international relations. The documentary has been produced by AKAFilm Company, owned by the AMF Foundation.
