패터슨은 그의 가장 친한 친구인 기린 라프와 같은 날 태어났다. 할아버지가 사육사인 패터슨은 라프와 많은 시간을 함께 보낸다. 둘도 없는 친구 패터슨과 라프는 모든 것을 함께 나눈다. 하지만 이제 학교에 입학해야 패터슨은, 라프가 기린이라 학교에 올 수 없다는 사실을 알게 된다. 디커제는 라프를 학교로 데려오기 위해 계획을 짜는데.......

Patterson was born on the same day as his best friend Raf, a giraffe. Because his grandfather is a zookeeper Patterson gets to spend a lot of time with Raf. They're inseparable and share everything. That is, until Patterson goes to school for the first time and finds out that giraffes aren't allowed at school. Dikkertje devises a plan to bring the giraffe to school and unite his two best friends.

바바라 브레데로는 심도 깊은 주제를 이해하기 쉽게 전달하는 감독으로, “작품이 아이든 어른이든 혹은 기린이든, 그 무엇에 대한 것이든 간에 거기에는 소름이 돋는 순간과 성장을 위한 관점이 포함돼 있다”라고 이야기 한다. 2018년 1월 개봉 예정인 바바라 브레데로 감독의 최신작은 파울리엔 코르넬리스의 컬럼을 원작으로 한 로맨틱 코미디 이다.

She understands the art of presenting serious subjects in a light-hearted manner, “Whether it’s about kids, adults or giraffes, there must be some goosebumps as well as the perspective to grow.” Her latest feature film – expected to hit cinemas in January 2018 – is the romantic comedy Taal is zeg maar echt mijn ding, based on columns by Paulien Cornelisse.
