  한국에 뽀로로가 있다면 말레이시아에는 우핀 & 이핀 쌍둥이 형제가 있다. 전 국민의 사랑을 받으며 기념 우표까지 등장한 우핀 & 이핀 형제는 말레이시아 TV 교육프로그램으로 큰 사랑을 받고 있는 캐릭터. 2009년 말레이시아 최초 3D 애니메이션으로 제작된 첫 번째 장편영화 <겡: 모험의 시작>를 시작으로 2019년, 말레이시아 역대 최고의 제작비를 들여 우핀 & 이핀의 세 번째 장편 애니메이션으로 만들어진 이 영화는 자국 박스오피스 애니메이션 역대 2위의 흥행기록을 세웠다. 우연히 말레이 전통의 단검을 발견한 우핀 & 이핀과 친구들은 단검이 열어버린 통로를 통해 인데라로카 왕국에 도착한다. 고향 마을로 돌아오기 위한 모험의 여정에서 말레이시아 신화와 전설에 등장하는 캐릭터를 만나게 되는데, 모두들 힘을 모아 왕국을 파괴하려는 사악한 왕 라자에 맞서 과거 화려했던 왕국의 역사를 되살려내려 한다.

Created in 2009 as a Malaysia’s first CGI-animated feature film Geng: The Adventure Begins, this 2019 adventure, Upin and Ipin’s third cinematic appearance, had record-high production costs that it recouped as the second-highest earning animated film at the Malaysia box office.

  
  

  In Upin & Ipin: Keris Siamang Tunggal, the twins and their friends stumble upon a traditional Malaysian dagger that opens a passage to the kingdom of Inderaloka. In order to return home, they have an adventure that puts them up against characters out of Malaysian myths and legends. Together, they pool their strength to fight off the evil king Raja Bersiong to save the kingdom and restore its golden age.
