  니노와 메리는 16세로써 로마 교외 지역의 집시 캠프에 살고 있다.

  니노와 메리가 영화감독으로서 셰익스피어의 로미오와 줄리엣을 감독하기로 했을 때 모든 드라마 속의 갈등이 현실이 된 것만 같았다.

  극 중 함께 하고 싶어 하는 로미오와 줄리엣을 반대하는 가족들처럼 카메라 앞에서 그 둘을 떨어트려 꿈으로부터 멀어지게 만든다.

  영화는 항상 도전이자 야망이며 닿을 수 없는 꿈이다. 이 다큐멘터리는 꿈을 이루어주려는 이야기이며 동시에 순수한 눈으로 이 놀라운 아이들을 담아내고 있다.

   

  Nino and Mary are 16years old and live in a gipsy camp in the Rome suburb.

  When they are chosen by a film director to stage in the camp a version of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, all the unreasonable conflicts of the famous drama seem to turn into reality.

  Like the two protagonists of the play, our Romeo and Juliet belong to enemy families who want to avoid them of being together, in this case in front of the camera, and try to separate them from each other,

  pushing away their dream.

  Cinema is always a challenge, an ambition, something that might look unreachable. This documentary is the story of all the attempts and efforts to make the dream come true, seen through the innocent eyes of two astonished teenagers.
