  마티아스는 베를린 예술학교의 사진학과 학생이 되고자 하는 꿈이 있다. 그의 꿈은 그가 아름답고 자유로운 영혼의 한나와 사랑에 빠진 후 끊임없이 시험대에 놓인다. 그녀의 마음을 얻기 위해 마티아스는 한나에게 자신도 그녀만큼이나 모험을 즐기고 예측불가능하다는 것을 증명해보여야만 할 것 같다. 마티아스는 한나의 이런 대담한 행동이 사실은 조울증의 증상일뿐이라는 사실도 모른 채, 한나와 함께 법을 어기고 스스로의 모든 것을 위험에 빠뜨린다. 어느 날 마티아스는 질투에 못 이겨 몇 년간 감옥에 가야 할 정도의 범죄를 실수로 저지르고 만다. 마티아스는 자신이 한나가 실제로 가지고 있는 질병인 조울증이 있다고 거짓말을 하여 범죄에 책임이 없다고 주장하기로 결심한다.

   

  Mattias has a dream to become a photography student of the Berlin Arts Academy. His dream is constantly put to a test after Mattias falls in love with a beautiful free spirit Hanna. Trying to win her heart, Mattias feels the need to prove Hanna, that he can be just as adventurous and unpredictable as she is. Breaking the law together with Hanna, Mattias risks everything dear to him, not knowing yet, that Hanna’s bold acts are only the symptoms of bipolar disorder. In the moment of jealousy, Mattias accidentally commits a crime that could put him behind bars for years. In order to save himself Mattias decides to get himself declared irresponsible by faking the illness his girlfriend really has bipolarity.
