• 떠도는 마음 Your Heart at Random 

  오드 레아 라핀/ 2015 /France /37'/ 19세/ DCP

   주인공 프레디는 온라인으로 알게 된 여자친구를 만나러 스페인으로 자동차 여행을 떠난다. 대부분의 로드 무비가 그러하듯, 이 영화도 원래 목표로 했던 일을 성취하면서 얻는 결과보다, 여행의 과정 중에 변해가는 주인공의 모습을 통해, 관객에게 감동과 느낌을 전달한다. 일반 극영화가 가지기 쉬운 과장되거나 화려한 수사보다, 젊은 청년의 만남, 그리고 점차 남성으로 성장해가는 모습을 통해 관객에게 잔잔한 울림을 전달한다. 2015 끌레르몽페랑단편영화제 국내경쟁부문 대상을 수상한 작품이다. (이정진)

   

  사운드 오브 마이 소울 Sound of My Soul 

  보이체흐 바코스키/ 2014/ Poland/ 13'09" /19세/ DCP

   총 6개의 장으로 구성된 이 영화는, 우리의 귀에 익숙한 영국 출신의 뉴로맨틱 그룹 스판다우 발레의 ‘트루’가 영화를 하나로 연결하고, 각 장을 소개하는 감독의 내레이션은 영화를 분절시킨다. 그리고 각 파트에서 들리는 각종 생활소음은 일상의 모습에서 존재하는 다양한 면모를 하나로 관통한다. 일상에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 평범한 이미지 위에 애니메이션 작업을 덧입히고, 이상하게도 조화롭게 들리는 레이어드 사운드 작업은 결국 6개의 장을 하나의 영화로 연결해낸다. 2015 오버하우젠단편영화제 국제경쟁부문 대상 수상작이다.   춤은 못 추지만 Bad at Dancing

   젊다, 그래서 자유롭다. 관습은 건너뛰고 본능에 충실하다. 룸메이트인 이사벨과 조안나의 자석처럼 붙었다 떨어지는 관계 속에 그녀들의 질투, 우정, 그리고 코미디가 남는다. 흑백 화면 사이사이로 그녀들이 관계를 회복하며 부르는 어린 시절 동요는 그들의 관계가 끝나지 않을 것임을 암시한다. 2015 베를린영화제 단편경쟁부문 은곰상을 수상 후 홍콩영화제를 비롯, 많은 해외 영화제에 소개되고 있다. (이정진)

   

  거세된 돼지 Castratus, the Boar

   라이티스 아벨, 라우러스 아벨 /2014/ Latvia/ 22'37" /19세 /HD 

  주인공 발터는 교회 성가대에서 소프라노로 활동하는 남성이다. 성가대에서 함께 노래하는 아야를 흠모하는 그는, 홀로 돼지를 키우며 식료품점에서 일하는 평범한 삶을 영위한다. 유려한 영상미와 편집, 그리고 영화 전체를 아우르며 반복적으로 들려오는 가톨릭 성가가 주는 경건함에 충격적인 전개가 더해져 하나의 작품으로 거듭난다. 라트비아 출신의 형제감독이 만든 작품으로, 미켈란젤로의 피에타상을 연상시키는 마지막 장면은, 관객에게 충격과 숭고미를 함께 전달한다. 2015년 탐페레단편영화제 국제경쟁부문 대상을 수상한 작품이다.   라이티스 아벨, 라우러스 아벨(Raitis Abele, Lauris Abele)
  Lauris Abele is Latvian filmmaker, born in Riga on March 14, 1980. He has obtained Masters degree in Audio-Visual Arts (film directing) at Latvian Academy of Culture and Bachelor's degree in Humanitarian Sciences (philosophy) at University of Latvia. Together with his brothers (also director) Raitis Abele, he works on short films. Apart from that he has made several music videos and commercials. As film artists both brothers focuses on existential problems of today and strong visual elements. Raitis Abele is Latvian filmmaker, born in Riga on October 27, 1983. He has studied at New York Film Academy, obtained Bachelor's degree of Humanitarian Sciences in Psychology at University of Latvia and currently studies for Masters degrees in Psychology at University of Latvia. Together with his brothers (also director) Lauris Abele, he works on short films. Apart from that he has made several music videos and commercials.   Born in 1979 in Poznań, Poland. Lives and works in Poznań. Visual artist, poet, musician. Graduated at Audiosphere Studio at Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan in 2005. Co-founder of artistic group Penerstwo in 2007. Member of music bands: 'KOT, NIWEA'.   오드 레아 라핀(Aude L？a Rapin)
  Aude Léa directed her first fiction short film La Météo des plages in 2014. The film was screened in competition in Clermont-Ferrand and numerous festivals all around the world. In the process, she directed Your Heart at Random which won the 2015 Grand Jury Prize at the Clermont-Ferrand festival.   조안나 아르노우(Joanna Arnow)
  Joanna is a filmmaker and cinematographer based in Brooklyn. She recently wrote, directed and edited Bad at Dancing, a narrative short that was awarded the 2015 Berlinale Silver Bear Jury Prize. She also directed several other films including personal documentary feature I Hate Myself :) a film that was named on top ten lists at Indiewire and Fandor.
